Good number of choices in term of western food menu. Delicious, well presented and kinda big in term of portion.
Ordered the doneness of medium for my Rib Eye Steak, but in my opinion a little overcooked. Speedy service.

Steak House
There's are only a few steak house restaurants in Kuantan. I think East Grill has everything I like.
Firstly, the food are well portion and delicious. It has a balance of savoury n richness.
Secondly, the price is fairly reasonable and for the amount food per ringgit is well balanced and worthwhile for your wallet. The service there is very nice, the staff was very experienced and explain the thing when I'm not familiar with.

Pineapple Chicken Salad
Been awhile never visit East Grill, visited last Fri and so disappointed with their service and food. We ordered mushroom soup, garlic bread, grilled Norwegian salmon, BBQ lamb shank and mix (lamb shank + lamb chop) and some drinks.
This is by far the worst lamb shank ever I ate, it was so dry and not tender, the lamb chop slightly better than lamb shank but still not worth the price. It was bit too chewy and not juicy, the sauce is not on par with the standard I expected.
To be fair, grilled Norwegian salmon is ok, the salmon is not too dry but the service is very slow, expect to wait longer. (didn't manage to snap some picture of it tho)
As a steak house, the waiter/waitress is not attentive and service is bad with the price they charge. They probably need to improve their food quality and service attitude.

Random Pahang Food Exploration Part 3
If you're born and bred in Kuantan, then you should know that one of the most popular western restaurants in this town will be East Grill Steak House that was opened in 1997. The royal family of Pahang - the previous Sultan and current YDAP plus their family members - are patrons in this restaurant. The photos are proudly displayed on the wall.
And this marked my first time (after so many years) coming here to eat, even though I was born here. Although the interiors are quite dated, the premise was kept clean and tidy - quite old school if you ask me. The waiters and waitresses are mostly elderlies who have been working here for most part of their lives.
◾Complimentary bread and butter
◾French Onion Soup - classic soup that tasted a bit too salty for me but tasty nonetheless.
◾freshly shucked oysters - fresh and lovely especially after squeezing the lemon and a dash of Tabasco sauce.
◾Sizzling beef steak - at the request of the sonny who loves his meat, he had no problem stuffing the excellent grilled beef into the soft wrap and made it disappeared into his tummy.
◾Mixed Grill - perfect was to taste 2 types or meat.. lamb shank and half chicken. Served with fried and corn on the side, with sauce served separately. Very old school yet executed nicely.
◾Sizzling chicken - an alternative for those who do not eat beef. Served with a bed of grilled veggies.
This restaurant is definitely one of the better western restaurants in town. They have their own regulars.

The taste of the food varies during my visits here. Sometimes good and sometimes not. Encountered food served slightly cold already. Ordered the grilled lamb chop today. Portion is large but taste is so so only. No lamb taste. Choices of desserts is not as good as before. Taste deteriorates every time I eat here.
Been around for a long time, quite a staple in Kuantan if you are after Western or even some local dishes. Quality has been consistent & so is the service over the years. Seafood was nicely cooked & fresh.
Over seasoned with salt and msg for grilled chicken chop and lamb chop. Grilled salmon doesn't taste fresh. Price is more or less as per market but quality is something lacking. Onion soup was awful and seafood spaghetti was also too salty.

Grilled Lamb Chop
Lamb shank is uniquely cooked dry and not oily though tastes nice. Improvement to make it juicy could attract regular followers.
Ambiance need improvements to reduce the echo when everyone talks.
Generally food is good and well done.

Wide myriad of menu selection. I ordered Cobia fish bake rice. The food smell an taste heavenly. I never know cobia fish can be so tasty. It really provide the 5 star fine dining experience. But overall i give 3 star because the price is expensive.
Nice ambience Western restaurant serving delicious soups, yummy chicken salad. Like the spring chicken, meat is sweet and tender perfected by the black pepper sauce. The service is good and the waiteres is polite. Price is also reasonable.
