This Mexican restaurant is one of the best restaurants I have tried in the city. Their food is fresh, delicious, and affordable. I particularly like their tacos, which have very fresh beef and vegetables and a very authentic taste. In addition, their chicken pancakes are also delicious, paired with homemade yogurt sauce and chili sauce for a better taste. In addition to food, the service of this restaurant is also excellent, and the staff are warm and friendly, always making people feel at home. The service was amazing, and during lunch, Jasmin was still very attentive. We both ordered the chimichanga lunch special, and it came out fast and hot. Lunch was perfect! First time visiting and was quite impressed. The server was polite and patient with our group. We had three small children. Our food arrived quickly. It was delicious!! The prices are affordable (although the cheese dip $ could be slightly less expensive). We ordered the kids nachos, tacos, and a large burrito and they did not disappoint. I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was below par and it wasn’t even busy- the server didn’t greet us, just kind of started taking the order. When the drinks were brought I asked for straws, but the server didn't bring them and was busy talking to her coworkers by the host stand. Even when the check was brought to the table, the finished plates were left unattended, she took the card and brought back the receipt and didn’t bother to pick up the plates. We stopped in because of happy hour and we should have stopped at the drinks. Well, at the beer. Now you can’t beat 2 for 1 beers during happy hour. So I enjoyed a beer, or two and some cheese dip. I usually enjoy the salsa, but the salsa was basically a can of diced tomatoes with no flavor. My wife joined me and ordered a skinny margarita. Well, here it’s a skinny margarita because it was so bad that no one would drink it. She ordered a beer instead. We ordered some dish with a tower of shrimp. It was comical that the skewer was held up by a raw onion covered by the meat. I will say the steak was not bad, the chicken a little dry. Overall, not bad, but won’t order again. I’ve been to a lot of Mexican places, and this one is at the bottom. Hit Taco Bell and enjoy a better meal. I gave it 3 stars because our server was outstanding. We love El Toreo on Gornto Road. The atmosphere is great. Authentic Mexican flair with great older music. They played 80's and 90's the entire time we were there. Our group was 10 large, and our server was amazing. The food is great, and it's a very relaxed place to go and have any kind of event. Go give El Toreo on Gornto a try! You will love it!! I hadn't been to this place in years, I'm not in that area much anymore. I stopped here passing on 75. I was in the mood for Mexican. The food was good. I ate at the bar, no wait. It took over 10 minutes to get a table. There was multiple waitresses walking by but still nothing. The restaurant wasn't even busy. Once we sat down we got chips, salsa, and cheese dip. We only got 1 basket of chips and never got asked again if we wanted more. We then order steak fajitas, a cheese burger, and a shrimp salad. All of it was terrible. The fajitas were burnt, the burger was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle, and the shrimp salad was very bland. This is was the worst food I have ever eaten, would not recommend. Another Mexican restaurant. The only type of restaurant I've eaten that more than Mexican would have to be small Italian/ pizza places. Chips and salsa. Same. Queso. Same. Enchilada, taco, quesadilla, fajita. Same. Prices. Same. What I did try differently here was the mahi-mahi which was nice and thick and grilled. Good seasoning and flavor. Another stand out part of this visit was our server. Catherine did a great job. So to sum it all up, you won't be disappointed in the food when you go here.
