Staci at Famous Dave's is the most kind-hearted person EVER! She saved our lives with emergency food while we were stranded and nearly freezing to death in this -20° blizzard! The food was so good and comfortingly warm, we actually cried while eating it. 🥲 The dinner Staci arranged for us is the greatest meal our old haunted home has seen in several decades! Everything right down to their famous Devil's Spit sauce was so intoxicating that we had to stop and get the silverware out for it... and the GRILLED-CHEESE SANDWICH was the tastiest, most decadent grilled-cheese sandwich I've had anywhere! Our pipes are currently frozen and we have no water, so without Staci and Famous Dave's, we probably wouldn't be alive right now. For that, we are eternally grateful. I understand now how a hot meal really can save a life! We've been to Famous Daves before, but it was quite a few years ago. Now, you have to pay/order as soon as you walk in the door. The only alcohol they serve is beer, so disregard any cocktails menu you've seen on Google. Lady working the register was nice enough. Absolutely no table service. We'll be headed to Blue Barn BBQ in Cedar Falls for our BBQ needs. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

Made an order for delivery. The desert had a lid where it appeared to have a “sell by” date on it. It was haphazardly removed. I called to inquire and spoke to Isaiah, who claimed to be the manager. He told me that when they “sell a desert, they take the old lid off and replace it”. I said, “are you seriously telling me that company policy is to replace a lid with another lid that was used?” Because I was unwilling to accept that he began to shout “Ma’am! Maam! ma’am!” I said “Isaiah please don’t raise you voice at me. You e not given me an adequate explanation as to why this label was removed and I no longer feel safe eating this food.” He then hung up. I ordered this for delivery. The delivery was timely and not an issue. But the FOOD?? I love Famous Dave’s and awhile ago, I had a terrible Cajun chicken, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt as I have worked in the restaurant industry. I gave them another chance today and am disappointed. My wings are gross. They either refried them after sitting, sauced, or they really just burnt them and forgot half the sauce. I’ve had these many times and these are just not edible. Black, dry, and honestly, they taste like leftovers from last nights shift. Awful. I always like to change things up. So a friend and I went to the famous Dave's on University Ave in Cedarfalls. The service was great at first when you ordered. Once you place your order, you never see anyone again until your food comes, which I may add took almost 30 min. The flavor was excellent. The food was cold. Never see anybody to bring this issue to their attention. When someone finally came around, I had to get her attention because it seemed as an inconvenience to ask how food is. Now granted, when I finally got her attention, she sent a manager over and gave us a gift card. We eat here almost once a week. The crew is great and will fix something if it comes out wrong which isn’t often. And the food is consistently delicious! This restaurant was very clean and the staff were very nice and proficient at their jobs. It was pricey, but everything is these days. The portions were large. The corn bread is more like yellow cake with added cornmeal served as a muffin. I liked the cornbread, but purists won't. The wait time was appropriate. The parking lot is very tight for all but the handicapped spaces, which are appropriately larger. Drive your smaller car if that's an option for you.
