I had a great meal here: the 12 oz. KC Strip Steak Special served with buttered corn, steak fries, dinner roll, and a side salad with bleu cheese dressing. They do not have a great beer selection (on tap) though, but I did try a pint of the "Arrowhead Red" from a local brewery - River Bluff Brewing (in St. Joe). The lady servers and bartender (here at the bar) were very helpful and friendly. Thank you!
We stopped in here while playing at the St Jo Frontier casino. First off there were lots of signs in the hallway stating rib specials, steak specials and pasta specials, but when we got in the restaurant there were no signs regarding the specials. The menu also did not tout any specials, so we figured they were for a different day/time than when we were there. Our server was Ann. She seemed a little overwhelmed and hurried. She also did not mention any specials. We ordered wings, salad and onion rings. Sorry, but everything was just plain and ordinary. The wings were good and crispy, but the sauces, Thai Chili and BBQ, were straight out of a bottle that could have come from any grocery store. The wings were not tossed in the sauce. The sauces were on the side in small compote cups. The onion rings were straight out of a frozen food bag. They were not salted and were very ordinary. Even the salad was just iceberg lettuce with a couple of grape tomatoes and ready shredded Parmesan cheese. We did not have drinks other than water and our bill was $37! I am always willing to pay for good food and typically do not quibble over the cost when I have enjoyed the food. However, this food is ordinary food we could get anywhere for much, much cheaper. There is nothing in this restaurant to go out of your way to visit.
We had a great time tonight at the Fireside bar and grill inside the Saint Joseph Frontier Casino. I believe I counted 34 flat screen TVs showing every sport possible. MK the bartender was super polite and friendly. The Saturday tenderloin special for $4.99 was really good! Will definitely be back!
