After a late night out in Jbay, we were looking for a decent cup of coffee the next morning.
When the Google reviews said "best barista in SA" I had to go check it out.
I was very impressed with this coffee shop. Owner Amo struck up a conversation, sharing his passion for coffee with us.
This might just have been one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had.
If you're into excellent coffee and great service Flamingos is a must!

One of the best coffees we’ve had in South Africa. The breakfast sandwiches were also incredible. Top quality ingredients and super friendly owners. Would highly recommend.

Ammo and Therin make you feel comfortable and can make any coffee you desire.

Such a great place to have phenomenal coffee, addictive food, and a really awesome group of locals frequenting. At the heart of this cozy cove of coffee and cool vibes, is incredibly talented chef and Master Barista Amo and his lovely wife, always welcoming patrons with a smile, great sense of humor and an attitude that makes this not-always-in-a-good-mood-in-the-morning reviewer carry that hopeful and happy vibe for the rest of the day with renewed vigor. The coffee is flavorful, earthy and rustic, has a very slight chocolaty taste to it, so it satisfies my inner chocoholic, has natural sweetness so there's no need to add sugar for the folks who have to forgo the sweet snow for dietary purposes... In fact, as much as I hate coffee without sugar on the regular, this is the ONLY COFFEE I refuse to add sugar to. It simply does not need it. And of the food I have tried, the BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato) sammy is so freaking good, the new Breakfast Bun is also a winner, and the flapjacks with, and bear with me here, Bacon, Syrup, Cream Cheese an option of butter on the side, and Berry Puree, which my mind just could not fathom that sweet and savory could ever go together, is so filling and confusingly delicious that I HAVE to order it every time I am there, to go if I am having something else. I kind of don't want to tell too many folks about how great Flamingos is as I wouldn't want the vibe to shift or it to get too busy to get a seat, but I would be doing the establishment such a disservice not to tell people how great it is. Please support this place! Mornings would utterly suck without it.
