Private karaoke rooms are the best way to sing your heart out in this “new normal”. This spot has a large selection of current hits and throwbacks. There are also large collections of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean songs. You do pay by person instead of by room, but the room was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend!
Debating between 3 and 4 star. This place is really old. Makes me think it was probably really awesome when it first opened back in the day. The furniture is a hodgepodge of mismatching, multi-generational items, some ripped leather sofas, a swivel desk chair, old wooden Japanese coffee table with wooden pieces detaching, multi bulb lamps with missing broken off lamp shades. It's quite the character. Seems like they have an extensive song library. On top of English & East Asian song books, I also saw a small Hindi song book. We picked the English karaoke machine and we could search up songs by artist or song title via a tablet. Our room was super stuffy and hot even with the wall fan on. Bottled water is $1 each. There's cold beverages and hot beverages. The other reviews are correct, this place wasn't designed for karaoke rooms, you can hear what people are singing outside of their rooms. Overall though, it has a messy, homey feel. Song selection does the job. Person at the front desk was super nice. I will probably be back, pricing seemed reasonable to me compared to other places I have been (granted they were in another state).

This place was the absolute worst Kareoke bar we have ever visited. I do not recommend anyone to go. It smells like dogs and urine!! It is also way over priced!!

Pros: Awesome song selection! Love their Japanese machines (we picked the DAM; there is also JoySound but you need to reserve it in advance).
Cons: The rooms are not very sound-proof. We can hear singing from other rooms. The facility is a bit old.
Gamba is one of my absolute favorite places, and I am so glad it survived the pandemic. If you want to sing to your hearts content in Japanese or English (among other language choices)… this is THE SPOT. It is a bit of a hole in the wall location after the decades of being here, but it still has the best machines for Japanese music in the Bay and the owner keeps this updated for all the new music popular in Japan.
