Cozy, unpretentious, and great little place with home-made local dishes and great desserts at super reasonable prices The food at Gandalf is delicious, homey and reasonably priced. Katarina (the owner) is the real wizard in the kitchen, and all the dished on the menu are her own recipes and prepared by her personally. You can tell that she loves to cook because everything I've tried is good, and made with quality ingredients. You can't go wrong with anything there, but I'd always go with what she recommends. The place itself is quiet, cozy and located in a nice street in the city centre. There are great options for vegetarians and people with gluten intolerance as well. If you're only looking for a home-made dessert and good coffee, the place is great in that department too. I highly recommend it. The host is the friendliest and most welcoming person you can possibly imagine. She welcomes you with a warm smile. Unfortunately the food was missing some spices. Everything tasted a bit bland. The salad didn't come with any dressing. The menu has a lot of glutenfree (gf pasta!), vegetarian, vegan and lactosefree options tho. Portions could be a bit bigger for the price. Charming restaurant where the owners cooks with passion and care. She's super sweet and the food is so tasty and healthy. I recommend the vegan bolognese, chicken tortilla and coconut cheesecake. My friend and I had an absolutely lovely lunch here. I'm vegan and my friend is vegetarian so it was nice to find somewhere with a great range of veggie options that were a bit different than what you see everywhere else! I had the meal of the day which was a green bean stew and it was so delicious, hearty, and comforting. My friend had the cheese and spinach gnocchi and enjoyed it. The portions were generous and our server was super friendly and helpful in describing the menu. Will definitely recommend.
