Fantastic wine and cheese shoppe. Aside from the extensive wine offerings, the shoppe has cheeses (of course) and other items that make excellent gifts for oneself or others. The specialty wine bags are fun and the mini fondue pots are also great. I love the whale’s tail cutting board. A clean, tidy, top notch shoppe!

Nice wine and cheese shop in Central Downtown the only downside is the staff isn't very accommodating. Yes they have lots of wine selections and yes they have a lot of wine accessories but after visiting a few times I've just noticed that the staff isn't very accommodating they tend to say no more than yes they tend to have a lot of rules. If you're looking for a nice place for you and your date maybe this could be fun. But don't count on having a lot of great conversations with the staff.

Nice place in the heart of downtown half-moon bay They have got some really good wines for rating on the bright whites menu (I didn't try the others) Really nice server at the bar. Glad to be able to use my 15% off yelp coupon for tasting and cheese. You get three 2oz portions in each flight. Good music nice clean interior. The lady was kind enough to let me choose my own cheese and added fig jam and crackers

We’ve visited this wine tasting room for years when visiting HMB and checked it out last week. We are fans of TJ Rodgers Pinot...and keep in mind, my husband and I have a long history with semiconductor, including TJ and Cypress. We had an opportunity to attend an exclusive tasting at his home early 2000s (est) comparing the most expensive French wines to his Pinot. Super impressed by his wine processing… super tech at the time we were there. This wine shop offers many options including TJ’s personal wines (he owns this tasting room). We’ve had a good experience over the years but was annoyed by this last visit. The attendant behind the counter was enthralled with the two gals tasting. The customers were rude and had a biting attitude. The attendant had not recognized our existence..,, until my husband I took a lot of interest in TJs wine, in particular. I was ready to leave until she said…. “Did you want to taste his wine”? I am all about customer service and ambiance and environment that invites you to experience the wine room. I told her how annoyed I was and ready to leave. She recalibrated and adjusted to our needs. We ended up purchasing two bottles of TJ’s wine but I was ready to leave and not buy anything. Not sure who they cater to - locals or vacationers.

Decent selection of wines and cheeses, but the cheese they served on the cheese plate I ordered didn't match what was on the menu (got a basic Mt. Tam from Cowgirl Creamery instead of the advertised French brie), and service to me and my friend was noticeably distant compared to other customers. I wonder why.

Service here is not good, their cheese plates are lacking, and atmosphere is ok. I don't know if it was because we were not their target audience but the woman at the register seemed significantly less welcoming when we ordered vs other people. They have a relatively small selection of wines. We also ordered the cheese and salami plate, which looked like a lunch able. 3 small pieces of one kind of cheese, sliced sandwich salami, and some crackers. I could have made it for $3 instead of paying $12. I'm also pretty sure they forgot about our plate order bc we had to go in to check on why it was taking so long and they were serving a bunch of other people who came in after us. We were interested to try this place bc there are always a lot of people but I don't think we'd go back.

This place has a nice selection of wines, cheeses, and other gifts, but the customer service is awful. I was waiting at the register and ready to order, and the staff didn't even look my way or make me feel welcomed otherwise. I'm not sure if it is because I am younger than their *usual* crowd, a person of color, or a woman, but staff only came up to the front to help after a group of people who looked clearly the opposite of me lined up to order. I have gone into this store multiple times to pick up gifts, and the service is always horrible no matter when I have come in. It is disappointing and I will no longer be coming back.

We visit this place about once a year when we go to HMB, and it never disappoints. Their wine choices are excellent, the service is first rate, and they even have a great selection of local beers.
