What a sweet little restaurant! Our Japanese friend Natsu-san called ahead to make sure we could get a vegetarian meal. We had a delicious pasta with tomato and vegetable sauce and bread. The vegetables were home grown. The only thing I would change is to have more vegetarian options.
Beautiful little place! Gorgeous food! Lovely owners! Will definitely come back! We had the ham sandwich, curry and the dessert! Menus in both Japanese and English. Iced coffee was really good too!
Love the warm welcome and feeling of the place! The owner was very sweet and soike English. I only regret we didn't come hungry to try more of the menu and only needed iced coffee.
Takes credit card and yen. Parki g is on the side but its a tight small area. There isn't room to park on the street the roads are narrow.
What a surprise to discover this little gem in the hamahiga island. We had fish and chicken; both are perfectly cooked - Crispy outside and soft inside, simply flavored with Japanese seasonings, and served in western style. Super tasty!
The proprietor is so pleasant and accommodating. The atmosphere is inviting and homey. The food we enjoyed--soup, pork, vegetables, rice and bread--were all so savory and satisfying. I look forward to dining here again soon.
I showed up at an odd time- maybe like 7o'clock in the evening- and I pulled my car in wondering if it was actually still open because all of the lights were shut off as if it were closed. The chef was out front talking with someone, and then walked up to my window after I had parked my car, wanting to see if I wanted to eat at his café. He spoke in broken English, and I know barely any Japanese, but we managed to communicate enough to get the point across. He turned the restaurant back on just for me, then beckoned me to enter. The interior looked very quaint with a small dining space, custom rolling wooden chairs and coat hangers, and a chalkboard menu which I only understood because he explained each dish that was on it. After a bit of a wait, he brought the elegantly prepared dish I had ordered. Everything tasted good, but I wonder about the quality of the chicken because it almost felt like it was thawed with a microwave before getting cooked. Other than that, the whole experience was very interesting, and the chef was very friendly and quirky.
We had the steak with rice, veggies, and soup. It's was incredible. Steal was seared perfectly with a red inside, vegetables were grilled, and the soup was incredible. What an amazing little shop on a very cool island.
