I was so nervous to take my Mom out as she had just come out of hospital and had become wheelchair bound. I decided to be brave as it would be so good for her especially after having been in hospital for 2 months. I cannot express the gratitude I feel for this Hillcrest farm, family and staff!! We arrived and a man encouraged us to park even closer to the front door. He presented my Mom with a Hillcrest jam gift once she was seated. We had the most delicious lunch with spectacular views. The staff were wanting to help Mom all the time. Then, as we were about to leave, we were gifted (again) with the scones, butter and cream as a takeaway to enjoy with her jam, at home. It turned out to be the best day ever!! A heart felt thank you to you all!!!! Thank you especially for making her realise that she still has a life worth living!!

The venue has beautiful views of the mountains (if you sit at the right place) and the atmosphere is peaceful. Sadly the service is VERY slow and the food wasn’t as good as I remember it being when we last visited. I seriously hope the staff were just having an off day and management needs to pick up a bit.

I went there for Sunday lunch. The quality of the food was so disappointing. The chicken and mushroom pies had one piece of mushroom and the rest of the pie was unidentifiable. I ordered coffee milkshake and told the waitress there is no coffee in the milkshake. She told me afterwards there was no coffee left. The apple crumble pie was a burnt concoction of something. My friend ordered a salad but there was no lettuce in the salad but some greenery. Thank goodness for the view. I will definitely not take people there for a meal again.

Very disappointed. Food was not good, long wait, items on menu not available, staff not attentive or friendly. Hillcrest Berry farm has been a much loved spot for a long time and we have always brought overseas guests here. However our last visit displayed that the standards have dropped including hair found in food. Beautiful view and delicious jams to buy and take home but sit down experience no longer enjoyable.

What a beautiful venue. We just stopped for a coffee milkshake lunch but sitting on the patio with an up close view of the majestic mountains was breathtaking. We also took home a selection of their locally made jams. Well worth a visit.

All reviews are correct when speaking about the best Scones Ever! And the variety of jams just made the experience so much better.... Eye Candy and Tummy Candy all in 1..... A Must Go To ❤️

Location fabulous, food delicious, but the occasion was let down by the very poor & slow service. With waitresses preferring to stand in groups & chat whilst on their mobile phones instead of serving their guests, plus the fact that we had to go and ask for our bill, as no one came to check on our table , our lunch turned out not the good event we had hoped it would be.

The scones were great, so no complaints about the food or service. Hillcrest has a very rustic vibe, great views but it just felt that more could be done with the prime location. A great place for a quick pitstop and to enjoy the view. Definitely more of a sunny day activity.

Went for breakfast before starting wine farm tours. The scones were delicious as were the jams. Sat right next to a mulberry tree and helped ourselves to the plentiful fruit too

Tried your new lime marmalade. It’s perfect. Used to buy imported Roses lime marmalade which is no longer available.This is a good alternative. Came back a few days later and bought 7 jars.
