The food was overpriced and poor quality. I ordered med-rare and got boiled well done meat. The bacon was good. Called to complain, got no response. .

Anna the bartender was our saving grace for our evening. Mr. London "Randy" can go back to the hole he crawled from and find a more purposeful way of expressing his disgust of what he did and how that afternoon "REALLY" went. So my wife and I stopped in and spent time in this establishment on a random road trip. Our HONEST review is that this is the bar we would go to EVERY time we are in Newport. We were sooooo relaxed and "at home" hanging and talking with the "regulars" and fine Newport townsfolk. The drinks were mixed exceptionally and the atmosphere was so "throwback to how a bar should be".

This is a great local bar. The food is awesome. Had the bacon cheeseburger. The owners run the bar and a friendly. I enjoyed my conversations with them. Will definitely return. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Cheap drinks, a jukebox, nice smoking patio and only one tv. Definitely worthy of patronage.

Stopped in for a cold beer and was absolutely delighted to see that they had High Life tall boys.. Bartender was super nice and never let a beer get empty without a full one sitting in front of it..

A great place to grab a beer or cocktail, and open till late, unlike other bars in the area. I didn't try much food, so not sure about that. Price per person $10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Their hours seem to change on the fly I was sitting there and ordered another beer and she didn't bring me one and then did a last call thing without announcing it. So I ended up leaving at 9:30 going to another bar. The food seemed very good. But there was something definitely wrong with the bartendress in an otherwise fine bar.

I just moved and live a mile away from Hoover's and will be going here a lot no doubt. I'll edit this review with more info later, but the place is nicely kept and the staff very friendly. The locals very friendly as well. I got a Rogue Stout for $4.50 which is a good price and had a cheeseburger that hit the spot. They made me feel right at home. Update: Well it's been 3 years now and like I said in my original review, I do go there quite often. The chicken wings are awesome, everything Marvin makes is delicious and they cater to my animal based diet with crazy orders I give them. There's a great outdoor seating area with a TV so smokers have a place to do their thing and don't feel like an outcast. It's fun to play pool, put some tunes on at the jukebox and socialize.
