This restaurant has very decent authentic Chinese cuisine. The presentation is also pretty good. We liked cumin beef best. This being said, most dishes are a bit pricey , especially with smaller than usual amounts. In addition, be aware that the menu is not updated with the recent increased prices. You may be a bit surprised to see the bill is more than the listed prices. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

Was wanting some Chinese food, so went to online and started a search from Gallup to Grants, to Flagstaff and looked for the good rated Chinese place. After reading, I decided on Hot Wok. Upon pulling up, there was plenty of parking. It was about 1 hour before closing time. The young lady who took my order was very friendly and quickly answered my questions when it came to the menu. The to-go order came out quick. Took about 5 minutes. I ordered the Mongolian beef with dried rice ($11.99) and a side of plain noodles ($3.99). The Mongolian beef was chewy. Didn't taste like it was just freshly cooked. It had A LOT of onions in it! It was more half onions and half chewy/"soggy" beef. It did have a good flavor. I do like spicy, so next time I'll request it to be added. The fried rice surprisingly really was just rice with whatever the chef used to make it give a little brown color (soy sauce maybe?) Not really had vegetables in it like it normally comes in fried rice. It had only 2 peas in it! My order came to $18.85 Their dinner special came with choice of soup, choice of rice, crab wonton and/or egg roll, choice of main dish. Price starting at $15.99. They do have an Asian store attached to the restaurant that I perused while waiting for my order. They had a steady stream of people coming in to place orders and even had app orders (like Door Dash/Uber Eats.) Overall, a good experience. Would I return here if passing through again? Yes. The food here is really good, it has lots of flavor. Their "steam buns" are actually "soup dumplings." Also the "crab cheese wontons were delicious. Service is kind of slow even when there aren't a lot of people there. The portion is pretty big as well. We a group from east coast ended up at this place during thanksgiving dinner 2023 while we were on a trip. Finding this place was a miracle given that it is thanksgiving night and pretty much all diners are closed by the time we arrive there. We roaming around looking for a place to eat when we saw this place. It was crowded and we had to wait for some time but the waiting was worth it. Out host was busy yet attentive given how crowded the place was. Place was clean and easily reachable from main route. Their menu has variety of food for all categories and prices are affordable. And all we ordered were served nicely and all were delicious. We were hungry from traveling and none of us had leftovers from that dinners. It was fantastic. Our food came out about two minutes after my family and I ordered. I am not sure how that is possible, but that is what happened. Our egg flower soup was cold, my sesame chicken and my brother’s general chicken was cold. I understand taste can be subjective but cold food should never arrive on a customer’s plate. I ordered garlic sauce with eggplant and took my first bite. The food was too sweet, so I asked the waiter if it was the right food. The waiter went in and asked the chef if it was the right food. I asked if he could replace it with a new one because the food was very sweet and I couldn't eat it. However, he told me that I couldn't return or replace it, so I paid the bill directly. He finally told me it wasn't his fault, it was the chef's fault. Yes, I didn't blame him, but I think I should be able to change a dish for me because I spent $18 and only ate a mouthful of eggplant that looked like sugar pickled. I recently enjoyed a fantastic dining experience at Hot Wok. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was impeccable. The menu offered a wide array of authentic Chinese dishes, every dish was a delight. The staff was friendly and willing to answer all of my questions. LOL.
