Called in to House of Spice Rotorua this afternoon to order some dinner, and I was not disappointed. What an amazing place, decor was incredible, pity I wasn't dining in, so I could enjoy it and soak in the atmosphere. Service was excellent, very good value, ordered chicken vindaloo (Indian 🔥), garlic naan, poppadoms. The food (chicken vindaloo) was excellent, hot, just as I like it, tasty & delicious. The garlic naan and poppadoms perfect. Would highly recommend House of Spice Rotorua for your Indian family dinner, dine in, or takeaway. What an outstanding experience. The food was amazing, I had the Chicken Tandoori - Hot (as a personal challenge) and it was phenomenal, delicious, not runny or watery in consistency, I loved it. One of the best versions of this dish I’ve ever had. They also have a phenomenal range of whiskey, very well priced. Including some be very nice single malts from India - you have to try it with your meal. Definitely give them a crack - they’ll look after you. The owner just happened to arrive as I was thanking the team for looking me, he shared some of his plans to continue improving what they offer. They’ll host your party, and your event and look after you well. Thanks so much @House of Spice - I’ll be back. Continually amazed by the delicious food from this restaurant. They were very busy this evening but we still had our meal served on time and no compromise on taste or quality. Excellent flavors and many menu options. Our pakora and mango chicken were very well prepared and seasoned. The wine was good and reasonably priced. Staff were helpful with my husband's dietary restrictions and touched base in a timely fashion without being intrusive. Love this place. We have been regulars for many years and never had a bad experience hence why we keep going back. Their service is outstanding, always with a smile and so welcoming. The food is always beautifully prepared and cooked well with beautiful flavours. When we order butter chicken we asked for it to be cooked in coconut cream and not cream as i can't eat cream. Never a problem they always do this for us. So accomodating. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend this restaurant. Best in Rotorua. We were a party of 15 which the restaurant happily and easily accommodate. We loved that we were not asked to pre order or order from a set menu given the size of the group. Service was excellent and friendly. Food was awesome and the portions sizes just right; the drinks menu was good too! We are looking forward to plan more parties there.. apart from that there was a lot of space for car parking and this thing really attracted me…. Went in to get a curry for lunch as was craving a butter chicken. Guy behind counter really friendly. Then waiting to pay I watched the chef go into the chiller come out taste with his fingers what he was cooking and yep sure he saw me then went to pay and 10 mins later they finally had my change.15 min later decided not to try it after seeing cook put his fingers in the food.
