We both ordered the enchiladas and shared a dessert so our food experience was limited. We did like how saucy it was. Food was good. I just found it to be a not so comfortable place to sit. The environment wasn't warm and inviting. As it's not close by it's not a place I would be itching to return to, but if my friend really wanted to go, the food was fine, but not so remarkable that it won me over. It's just with all the Mexican choices, this wouldn't be my first or second... It's further on the list.

We have always enjoyed going to Howard’s but today was a different story. I ordered the three taco entrée, and when I got my tacos, the taco meat was burnt black along the edges and was not edible and the tortillas were very dark brown. I showed the waitress and she apologized for it and said that she would tell the kitchen, I didn’t even eat one of the three tacos and they only took off $1.25 for the entire meal that was thrown away. Love this place! The service is excellent, the drinks are fantastic, and they have the best Mexican food in Omaha! I highly recommend the enchiladas, and don't miss the queso blanco or the guacamole as an appetizer! For drink recommendations, ask your server or bartender - they are the best! Update....on 7/26/2023 @ 6pm we went to eat here. I have never complained about this place cause i love it, but last night my tacos were very soggy. Maybe a one-time thing, but the way management was was not good. Just not the same. The waitress was not attentive either. Tacos are the best, wish more restaurants would cook them like this. And the red chili is fantastic and the burritos are very good. We are from out of town (but I grew up here with Howards) has not changed. My favorite Mexican restaurant and I've traveled from Virginia, GA, Texas, California and few other places non is like Howard's. A must try when visiting Omaha
