I've been eating here since the old location! The restaurant is beautiful and very clean. The service is always great! May is the sweetest! We started with a scorpion bowl - so yummy. For the appetizer, we ordered fried vegetable dumplings. We also ordered sushi. The spicy crab and for the first time, I tried the Blue Dragon roll, its spicy tuna with asparagus on the inside, and crispy lobster salad on the outside.. wow, was it delicious! Also ordered a side of pork fried rice. The best around! Everything is always fresh and delicious. Love this spot! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Best sushi you will ever taste! Menu has large variety of selections! Don’t eat sushi? That’s ok there is Chinese too that will knock your socks off! Everything is super fresh and made to order. Owner Joe is very friendly and goes out of his way to please! Sake is top notch! Martini menu is 👍🏻! Give them a try you will not be disappointed. They also have a room for private parties! Overview: Little hole in the wall Chinese/Japanese restaurant with a nice selection of dishes. The staff is welcoming and extremely attentive to needs/questions/etc. We've had take-out and dine in from this place and it has been delightful both times. Food: - The food selection they have isn't as extensive as your typical Chinese restaurant, but they make up for it in the variety they have as they combine Japanese dishes on the menu too. Your typical Chinese food isn't nearly as high quality either! - The prices for the food seem a bit higher than you would expect ($17 for General Tso), and although questionable, the taste of their food is good. - Dumplings are great, so are the noodles. I had somewhat expected better tasting chicken in the Udon, but the rest was really good. - First time I've had sushi was at this place and is worth trying for sure, they have a very interesting selection of fish and combinations and all seem worth a go. Sushi is an acquired taste so you'd need to figure out what you like! Service: - Everyone seems to have a smile the whole time and are immediate to assist or help with anything you need, no time is wasted! - The staff is patient and willing to address any questions you have quickly. Atmosphere: - While not upscale like a hibachi or high class Chinese place, the booths are nice, comfortable and they also have a bar! - There is a selection of Japanese beer and traditional drinks. Overall, Hunan Pan is a great place for a mix of Japanese or Chinese food that is higher quality than most standard Chinese restaurants with a bit of upscaled price.

Absolute best sushi place! Joe and May are amazing and treat you better than family! Food is top notch and the service is even better! I would absolutely recommend anyone and everyone to come and try them out, you won’t be disappointed. I have been a huge fan of Hunan Pan for the last 8 years. But recently, we have been highly disapointed in the quality of their rolls. I'm not sure if it was the move into their new location in Shelton, but the last two times I've gotten take out, the rolls were not up to their usual standards. In fact, they were falling apart so we ended up eating with our hands. So we have been trying to find a good sushi place. ☹️

It is the only place I have found that you can get both good Japanese food and good Chinese food! This is a rare thing. I have been eating at hunan pan for over 10 years. Their food has always been fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. They also have rice chips and duck sauce to start which is great! The staff are friendly and attentive. The new location is nice!

The stuffs are very friendly, nice, and helpful. The foods were great and very tasty, lots of choices on alcohol, wines, imported beers and sake. The price was pretty fair. Over all I've been there a few times and every time was a good experience. I will be back here again when I'm in town for business.

Awful, awful General Tso’s chicken. We ordered takeout a mere 4 minutes away from the hotel and by the time we got back with the food, it was a soggy mess. The breading fell off whatever they were trying to pass off as chicken. I gave some to my daughter and she spit it out, so I TRIED to find a sauceless piece of chicken inside the breading, but it was more of a paste. It was as if they put liquified chicken into a deep fryer like funnel cake. The house friend rice was a mess as well. There was one random scallop in the middle that had been squished or maybe even chewed on. Based on the “quality” of the General Tso’s, I wouldn’t be surprised if the house fried rice is just a mix of people’s uneaten leftovers. Disgusting 🤮 Will add photos in the morning. Absolutely amazing. I used to come here for the fresh sushi. This is my first time here at the new location. They didn't skip s beat. Still the best Asian cuisine in the area. So so good!
