My husband and I were staying at the Airydale Retreat for a two night anniversary getaway and ate here for dinner the two nights! The first night we enjoyed a flight of wine and shared it before selecting our bottles. My husband enjoyed salmon. I did the pasta special. I wasn’t a fan of the Alfredo sauce however the chicken, mushroom and asparagus were delicious! Second night we had martinis which were yummy! My husband loved the crab legs and my steak was cooked perfectly! The first evening we ordered a charcuterie board to go and we enjoyed it by the campfire at our retreat with our wine! Had a lunch date with my wife, the bistro was just as expected, food cooked to perfection, made with passion and care. The respect for the craft comes through in the food. I am 100% satisfied and am looking forward to a swift return for dinner. THANK YOU HUNGRY RUN for making date flow smoothly and efficiently. Moreover I would like to express our deepest gratitude for providing our small neck of the woods with a HIGH QUALITY, exceptional food experience. Everything we had was fresh, well presented and tasted out of this world. Our server Lisa.... kudos to her and her masterful service. My wife and I are just so grateful for a place to go eat that actually cares about the quality of the dishes they produce. The decor, the ambiance just right. Local restaurateur's should take note. I would have to personally say it does not deserve a five star but not a three star. The food was pretty good and more home made than most places. I asked for a email receipt which I did not get which was not the best by paying card. Which would have gotten it a five star. The wait staff were okay just did not seem very attentive to you when you were there. I feel they could have came by and checked on you more than they did. I would also have to say the salmon was very great they had and the Cobb salad too the burger was good to lots of toppings. I feel they should have gave a tad better service than they did. Also I feel the wine should have been served much colder than it was. Other than that for a place in lewistown if you’re looking for fancy food this is the place. $12 for a flight of wine. Definitely a must to stop in Hungry Run Wine. They have some sweet wines mixed with brandy and also a slew of other wines. The atmosphere is calm and chill. We didn't eat but my god they have a good looking menu. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I love this winery! We go for lunch/brunch most Sundays after church. I recommend the smash burger & rosemary fries! My favorites are the Cobb Salad & the Hot Spinich Salad. I'm a dry red drinker, but I like to enjoy a flight here, there are some very tasty semi drys & even semi sweets that are excellent! This winery was featured at Wine on the Lake in Erie,Pa. I really loved their wine and ordered 2 bottles of their Sangria and another wine. Unfortunately they lost my order. Don’t know if it was the venue fault or theirs. A bit disappointed. Yes I did Check in with them and unfortunately the sangria was sold out…. At that time. Is there a way I can order from you for it to be shipped? I really loved that wine.

Hungry run has some amazing underrated wines. Our visit was with a group of seven. We were immediately seated and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We had arrived early in the day to take advantage of their brunch menu. We started off with a sampling of wines and various appetizers. We ended up purchasing a case of various wines to take home with us. A few in our group also did mimosas flights…. While I did not try all of them, the couple I tasted were outstanding. I would highly recommend Hungry Run Wine Bar & Bistro to anyone looking for a good meal, great wine and superlative atmosphere! We met the owner at Tyrone wine walk and just had to visit. The tasting flight was generous compared to most wineries. Which of course will deserve a return visit or every time we pass by! The wines are sweet without tasting like fruit juice, you still enjoy a flavorful wine. Atmosphere is very sophisticated and staff was very friendly. Food was delicious and this turned out to be a great find on a road trip from Dubois to Lancaster. The wines were great and did not taste like typical PA wines. Loved the cab and Crimson Smoke. Theresa took such great care of my boyfriend and me and definitely humored him and his sense of humor. Thanks for the hospitality! Will be back next time we pass through.
