A small, inconspicuous but local restaurant on the street. We were hungry and sat down at a table on the terrace. A friendly man came and immediately made us feel like welcome guests. From the small menu we ordered scabbardfish (my husband) and vegetarian pasta. The meal was served quite quickly and we enjoyed it very much. The fish in a thin, delicately spiced pastry shell accompanied by boiled potatoes tossed in olive oil, broccoli and a fried banana (which was so tasty I ordered another portion for my dessert 😊). The tagliatelle cooked perfectly al dente in a creamy sauce. In the sauce, green beans, small ball carrots, corn and a few small pieces of mushrooms (if you don't like them, you sorted them out quickly 😄). We will gladly eat there again. We rentend an apartment nearby and coming straight from the airport we were famished. The owners of the restaurant do the service themselves. Ordering in English was no problem. Drinks and food were served very quickly. We had espada with banana and lion beef and it was very delicious. The salad was very fresh and also very good. The espresso was the best I had in Madeira for only 80 ct. There are also some homemade deserts one can choose from. Big recommendation on my part! Nice restaurant, dinner starts at 18:00 before that you can only order drinks. The menu is rather simple with about 6 main dishes, so you will not struggle to choose. The waiter was very nice. He even occasionally came to ask if everything was ok. And it was, the food was good and the price was reasonable (for 3 persons we paid 65 euros with dessert and entry). Overall a good experience. Food and service excellent. The garlic bread is sublime. Good steak and Scabbard fish and good white wine. Lots of people should come here to eat as it is delicious and good value. One of my favourite snacks "Prego no Bolo do Caco" and I can say it was so yummy. And throughout the week they also have the dish of day which depends on the day of the week. Also there's a mini market next to it in case we need to buy some extra things

Very tasty all what we had!!! The owners were smiling all the time and worrying if everything is OK. A very tasteful bolo do caco, espada fish and francesinha! We found this Little Restaurant by accident, but absolutely loved it! The owner is super nice and friendly and the banana fish was so delicious! The pudding was just heavenly - will definitely return, this is a hidden gem if you like to eat good local food away from the mainstream tourist places
