Despite the unassuming exterior, this restaurant is a hidden gem with delectable dishes and generous portions. Celebrated a birthday here tonight, and the space was fabulous for all 25 of us. I treated myself to catfish, Caesar salad, and greens—all served piping hot, with a delightful kick in the greens. The shrimp and grits, along with the jumbo chicken wings, looked equally impressive. The entire group was thoroughly impressed with their meals. Special kudos to the fantastic owner, Bryan.

My first time here was last night for a birthday party dinner. I enjoyed the food and establishment so much I needed another go at it today. It did not disappoint at all. I had the smothered chicken wings, sautéed spinach, garlic mashed potatoes last night. Today I wanted the smothered wings again, but got the wingettes instead of whole wings, chicken and spinach alfredo w/garlic toast. Absolutely delicious. I’d definitely recommend this place over, and over again. A great soul food option anytime you want some great food, and nice ambiance.

This is a hiding jewel in the Eastside of San Antonio. Southern Food Best. Parking is across the restaurant.
Owners are so friendly. The food was amazing. Chicken Fried steak has a flavorful sauce and very tender. Yams are in point delicious. Great corn bread. Now , the Smoked Meatloaf is incredible. Never tried a meatloaf so good. The cook came to our table to ask about the food, that's nice. Server kept checking on us. The decor is very romantic with pinks and black. This is a place to eat and enjoy.

Chicken Fried Chicken
This was my plate… meatloaf, garlic mash, and cabbage. Brought it for lunch the next day and my coworkers loved the way the break room smelled. My only complaint is that I didn’t buy two plates! 😊

Started off with the delicious Pineapple Lemonade 🍋 so good!! All the choices on the lunch menu made it hard to decide! We wanted it all. Hubby and I decided on getting different plates and sharing. We tried the catfish, fries, Mac and cheese and shrimp and grits. It was all absolutely wonderful! Crispy, perfectly seasoned crinkle fries. The catfish was so good! Excellent crisp to it. The shrimp were HUGE and we cleaned our plates.

Chicken Fried Chicken
I'm from rural Louisiana and this is hands down the best soul food / southern food I've had in years. They clearly beat their competition not just in Dignowity but in the greater San Antonio area. Will be going back on a regular basis. The food is made to order, fresh, and simply delicious. Don't waste your time going to another soul food restaurant. Staff are friendly, answer all your questions, and clearly want your experience to be great.

I love veggies. The spinach was amazing. I loved the spiciness of the mac and cheese. I also had the greens, and cabbage. The cabbage has a little spice to it but it was all delicious. This was my first time there. I also tried the smothered pork chop the chicken fried chicken, the banana pudding, the baked 🍝 spaghetti. I will be returning. It's a great place for good soul food

The service here was grand. The customer service was excellent. The food was magnificent. I usually take a to go box when I leave a restaurant, not here I ate it all here lol. That in itself should tell you how good, hot and fresh it was.
