I have shopped at nearly every Jewel in the Chicagoland area. This location has an INCREDIBLE liquor department / selection! Very hard to find beers (Polish, Tyskie, Zywiec, etc) as well as Ranger IPA’s and Ranger beer. My only complaints are that the Deli is never properly staffed during high volume times/days and dinner/after work hours. Some are extremely slow in getting orders together, while others are just fabulous! Produce is still way too high/expensive, but it looks decent. Overall, prices are a bit too high. I don't like the 3 day only sales. All sales should be weekly. No limited days. However, that being said, the employees are extremely friendly and always very helpful. Great customer service. The alcohol and liquor selection and department are the ABSOLUTE BEST at this location, and often times I will drive to this location just for the beer and liquor selection!
This is not directed at the employees as I know they are not responsible for staffing, but the Jewel desperately needs to stop the practice of leaving expired sales stickers on the shelves! There is a tiny date, however the large SALE and other verbiage gives the impression an item is on sale and upon checkout, it's not. The Customer Service desk will honor the sale price however it's extremely cumbersome to re-check an item then go to the desk to have an adjustment made, especially on multiple items. (The picture shows a sticker expired 2 days ago, still up). I gave one extra star for good customer service as they always redolve, but management needs to somehow fix this frequent problem.
Store is fine prices are a bit high but selection is great However condition of men’s room amd ladies room are as follows On entry no toilet paper in men’s room Stall wa in need of cleaning Hook for handing coat was broken See pictures TP dispenser was on floor Per lady TP OUT ONE stall and room was dirty What I would expect from a jewel Grocery store
Every time I have gone to this Jewel Osco on Randall, people are incredibly rude. Whether it be the self checkout cashier or people grabbing carts. Do not recommend this place for a friendly shopping environment. I was trying to buy medication due to being sick and did not have my wallet for ID on mucinex and the self checkout cashier cut me off several times and was incredibly rude to me while calling over a manager who just simply bypassed it without saying anything. I even offered several times to show ID via phone. Like really? Is this the kind of customer service we're providing to people nowadays?
Shout out to James bringing in the shopping trolleys! I was here in mid December and he was extremely festive singing holiday tunes in the parking lot. He even called me his "bro". Give that man a raise!

I always go to this location since is 3 min away from my home, everyone is being always nice to me until tonight, one of the cashiers/shift managers was really rude to me. I didn’t get her name because she walked away from me when I was still taking to her, she is about 60 years old, short, short hair and about 5”2 tall. She needs to retire or get another job, for me tonight’s experience is 0. Made it seemed like I wasn’t paying for my groceries. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

I went to the Jewel-Osco in Algonquin on January 20, 2024 and checked out at 5:12 p.m. I was in the lane furthest from customer service so I'm thinking you should be able to find out the young female cashiers name. It's on my receipt, but I don't want to call her out in a review. My order was $150.28. I put four (4) of the $1 Heavy handle Jewel bags down in front of my groceries. This review is about the cashier and her best friend who was bagging. The cashier told me she got her the job. After I got the groceries on conveyor I stepped forward and immediately saw the bagger was not using my bags. I mentioned this to her and she said "Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." She put the two bags that were already done in the cart? I would have thought she would have re-bagged them because that's why I brought in the bags, but okay. The next thing I saw her do was throw my (4) pkgs. of oxtails ($14 - $18 ea.) into 2 different bags. I looked in the bag and instantly told her, first of all, you don't throw meat into a bag, secondly, all these should be placed in plastic before being put in my bag, thirdly they should all be placed in the same bag, and finally you don't put meat on its side or upside down because it bleeds. She looked at me and said "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know" and then looked at the cashier and said " you never told me that". The cashier then told me "yeah they expect me to train her, but how can I when I have to do my own job". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I can't believe I'm the one that re-bagged my oxtails. I wasn't going to be the one to tell her to simply turn around after you ring it out and show her how to bag meat. One time and she'll know. I have had my fair share of poor baggers, but this one topped the cake. Not only was my meat bagged with my produce, Frozen, and Dairy. She didn't care what was in any of the bags she just kept loading them up. The final straw was when she got to the end of my produce and she took the bananas dropped them in the bottom of the bag and then went to put 2.64 lbs. of turnips on top of them. I stopped her and told her you don't put bananas in the bottom of the bag, they go on top, and I won't appreciate it tomorrow when all my bananas are bruised because of the way you threw them in the bag. This is when the cashier told her "now I told you this already" and the bagger replied "yeah I need to start paying attention. After my transaction I pushed my cart forward and proceeded to rebag all four bags. Upon seeing me do this the bagger apologized, yet again. The next day when I went to make my oxtail soup one of the packages had a tear in it. Probably because they were thrown in a bag with another package thrown on top. Does management not make sure the baggers know how to bag? The customers surely shouldn't be training them.

So this place could easily get 5 stars because there are some aspects that make this place great to shop. But what has left a sour taste in mouth is some of your staff are blatantly rude to customers. I've seen it happen to other customers but didnt pay to much attention because it wasn't happening to me. I shop here a couple times a week. I'm always polite as a customer (sure I might do self check out if I'm having a day) but I even tip the baggers if they help me to my car. I usually pick my favorite cashiers line, which I have a few. But, I don't know what I did to Amy G. I usually go through her line as she has been quite friendly in the past but about a week ago I'm going through her line and she snapped at me for putting stuff on the conveyor belt before she was done ringing in the gentleman in front of me. I've been shopping for over 30 years and certainly know when someone is done putting thier groceries on the belt and to add line divider to put my groceries on, Giving the customer in front plethora of space.. I shrugged this off thinking she was having a bad day. But then I came through her line yesterday 11/22 and she was just as short and twice as abrupt, and seemed irritated that I was there. And yes blatantly rude to my face. I will be avoiding Amy G line like the plague from now on!. BUT I do want to give a shout out to the rest of the store. The produce section is great and if you can't find something there is always someone working that will go above and beyond to help. The bakery is phenomenal, the fresh baked bread and the smile on your bakers keeps me coming back. The pharmacy is top notch! Quick and cares for you i refuse to go to any other pharmacy. I absolutely adore a few of your front staff, all of your baggers are Amazing and sweet and kind. Like Every single bagger! I have a great conversations with all them and enjoy seeing them when there. And a huge shout out to my 2 favorite cashiers Robert and the older guy with a the white goatee that looks like he could be on the cover of GQ. Both gentleman are amazing and I go out of my way to have them ring me up and will even wait in a longer line for them.... Hope you all can fix the problems with some of your employees, seems being rude to customers is a top review and that is sad because this is a great store!

I often shop at various Jewel locations. However, when shopping at this location I’ve often encountered the staff (behind deli counter, customer service, self-check out) to be quite rude.
