Jiangnan's location in NJC has to be my favorite restaurant in Jersey City. It is equally as good as the location in Manhattan in terms of food, service, and atmosphere, though one thing to note is that they do not have an alcohol menu.
I come back here all the time because everything is delicious – you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. My top dishes and gotos after trying a solid portion of the food here over the years includes: chicken/fish maw soup (or Buddha's temptation soup, this tastes like the former with seafood), egg yolk prawn, lotus root with sticky rice, braised meatballs, and the yogurt and fruit dessert. The duck here is also great, if you like it on the sweeter side.
DO NOT sleep on the drinks here!! They are amazing, and the pineapple beer and sodas are both fun and aesthetic.
Portion sizes are pretty big so it's worth it to go with a group. Otherwise, you'll have lots of leftovers (no complains there either). :)

Oh boy, the sizzling cumin lamb had so much complexity and nicely spicy! The mega lamb skewer was super tender and great spice! Definitely on the list to try a few more dishes in the future.

I am so happy to dine in at this local restaurant multiple times, it’s almost my 食堂, have nearly tried every dish on the menu, and none of them let me down. Among the menu, the Peking Duck and 清炒丝瓜 (Stir-fried Loofah) stand out as my absolute favorites.

I’ve dined at Jiangnan NJC many times and have tried most of their menu at this point. I started out loving this place for its creative menu and chinesey atmosphere. I still think it’s great for a nice dinner with friends. However, my impression of the food has soured over time. The only thing that’s consistently good here is the peking duck (unpictured). The rest of the menu falls short, especially for the price point. I’ve found their special dishes to be novelty-driven, underwhelming and poorly balanced, although not bland. We’ve also found the service to be impatient and unattentive, to the point that we’ve spent the entire meal waiting for water or tea to be served. Would still recommend as a nice gathering spot in JC but maybe manage your expectations.
We've eaten here a few times now over the past few months and each time we've gone, we've been really happy with the food. It's all been very flavorful. In general this is our new favorite Chinese restaurant in Jersey City. The only issues were gave are that some dishes are a bit overpriced, even if it's still prepared well and a few times we've gone they've forgotten a dish, but I think that might have to do with the language barrier since I don't speak Mandarin.
Dishes:
- Peking duck: This has always been done really well, but our only issue is we always run out of pancakes and they charge you for more. I wish they just gave you more pancakes with the meal the first time!
- The soups are all amazing. If you get the peking duck I highly recommend getting the duck soup. The broth odd the best part.
- Stir-fried string beans with minced meat: Still had a good crunch
- Stir-fried cabbage with pork belly: This vegetable dish was surprisingly flavorful with great char and a slight kick.
- Soup dumplings: Decent xiaolongbao, and probably the best you'll find in this area at least
- Salt and Pepper Shrimp: 4/5 dish, very good but not amazing
- Fried Rice: They have pretty bomb fried rice
- Fish: Our dish was cooked well, but I wouldn't recommend the garlic sauce. It was very bland. Next time I'll have to try a spicer version.

Came here for my moms birthday and it was great. Definitely make sure you get a reservation. We came on a Monday and it was still a little busy. Food was good and service was good. The bamboo was still crunchy. The mapo tofu was great. Still had that ma la spice. Green beans were
Awesome. Peking duck was nice. The crepes were Super thin. Latte chicken was different. Cumin lamb is a must. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

I visited this restaurant a few years ago and gave it a 0/5 rating because the food was not delicious and the service was poor. However, I recently visited again and was very impressed. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was inviting. It is a bit pricey, but the food is worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Every single dish we tasted was bursting with flavor that makes you want to go back for more. This restaurant offers dishes from different Chinese regions and serves dishes in family style so it is a great place for groups. There are many things on the menu that are on the spicier side, so if you are sensitive to spice I would makes sure you ask for help when choosing dishes. The menu is extensive and has a little bit of everything. We tried a fish stew, pork belly, soup dumplings, green beans, and the pekin duck. Everything was delicious, but I was particularly impressed by how the green beans, something that is simple and not usually too flavorful, were cooked to perfection and were very flavorful. I would 200% recommend this restaurant.

We had been to this restaurant a few times on weekdays for lunch. It was busy but still had tables available, so no wait. Waitstaff was helpful and friendly.
We loved their signature grilled fish with Sichuan traditional flavor (spicy and slightly sour). The Sauteed pea sprouts were perfectly cooked and very tender. Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings were good but very small and a bit pricey. The only miss was the Deep fried jumbo prawn with salty egg yolk. Something about the taste didn't work for me.
I think the organization of their menu was a bit confusing. When I tried to order, say, a shrimp dish, I had to search through all the pages as different shrimp dishes were listed under different categories.
Also loved that it was BYOB.
