I don't usually write reviews for franchises but this one deserves it. Both Dunedin and Queenstown Joe's never disappoint but this one left a sore spot. We walked in, waiting to be greeted and a server told us to take a seat. We did. Fifteen minutes later - with no menus or water this server was nowhere to be seen. (Your tap was out of order so we couldn't grab that ourselves). Two other waitresses cleared a empty table across the restaurant from us while no one approached us. I witnessed another table of 3 whom had finished their meals 15 minutes ago bring their plates up to the counter because no one had checked on them or offered them anything else. Five minutes later a waitress approached us offering menus. Food and drinks were good; it was just a shame with the slow service it took up to half an hour to get these. Your restaurant was also not busy at this time. We were one of the five tables in (the table of 3 included). Three of these tables were already eating also. The other two franchises I've mentioned above have much better service. Food is good but your service is slow and needs A LOT of improvement. Soon you walked in this designer establishment by Joe , you will be impressed by the quality fit out . That’s not all . Please try the chef creations all day and night menu which is satisfying everyone s taste buds. Start from the big breakfast , bread rolls , followed by giant burgers 🍔 , pizzas and mouth watering desserts 🍮. New York cheese cake 🍰 is my favourite 😻. You also be impressed with the GLUTEN FREE OPTION at this venue. Joes garage is well pointed in the heart of the grown township of selywn district . Fantastic for hosting your birthdays , anniversary, fair well or any celebrations. Big confutable booth seats are great for privacy romantic occasions . Regular joes will thank you for all your contributions towards joes over the years and your loyalty will be highly appreciated by Joe. Second time recently we have had very average breakfast. Ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and got thin omelette instead which was dry. Tried to explain this to waitress who argued with us and was finally told that’s how they do scrambled eggs. If you can’t do scrambled eggs then take it off your menu, especially when other restaurants in Rolleston can. Had a delightful brunch catching up with old friends today. The hot chocolate was piping hot, and the coffee was fantastic. The food was great, and the service from Grace and Mihirangi was awesome. The atmosphere was fantastic too. I loved how Grace met us at the door with a big welcoming smile. We'll definitely be back for more! One of our favorite restaurants in Rolly. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Food is yummy. We ordered kids beef burger and Orient Joe salad...loved it..... Highly recommended 👍🏻

Lovely service (thank you to our waitresses), good beer, nice surroundings, but below average food. This was the fourth Joe's Garage we have visited and unfortunately the food was definitely below the standard we gave experienced at the others. The chicken burger was a soggy, hastily cooked and thrown together mess. The pork belly was cooked well but the overall dish was left down by sloppy potato and an odd taste in the coleslaw. We decided against having dessert. Maybe it was just a bad night in the kitchen but we'll be trying somewhere else next time we are in Rolly. Positives: lovely front of house staff, cold beer.
