We travelled around Sri Lanka, tried different restaurants, but Jude is incredibly delicious! The best food! Fresh fish cooked in right way, fresh beer, a lot of choices. I will totally recommend for everyone! Prices are very nice too. Okey you read this from time to time: this was the best rice and curry we had in Sri Lanka. We travelled the country and mostly stayed local and not in to touristy places, trying to get a sense of the cuisine and taste that the country brings. On our last evening we wanted to go a bit more upscale and went to Jude. I think it is still cheaper than quite a bit of the tourist places - but it is so much more better in quality. We had grilled prawns - that were fresh and amazing in taste as well as rice and curry which was with so many diverse side dishes and crazy tasty. The restaurant is family owned and all the staff is super nice - apparently the mom runs the kitchen. 100% recommendation!!! simple but clean and comfortable place. Delicious traditional Sinhalese food. there were 8 of us and all the dishes were very good. Kind and friendly staff. Excellent and authentic local food. We travelled two months around Sri Lanka and couldn't have wished for a better last meal in this beautiful country. Amazing rice and curry, nice icecold drinks all served by super friendly people. This place is an amazing place to either start or end your holiday. Phenomenal service. My dude was on point with *honest* recommendations and friendliness. You also cannot beat these prices for a touristy district. We just finished up a 10 day trip across the island and these prices were a welcome respite from some places we've been to. Food was amazing as well. We loved the grilled fish! This is our 3rd trip to Sri Lanka and this place was a standout for us in terms of value for quality food and price. The prices were VERY fair and on par with what locals would pay despite it being in a touristy area but they are a family run business and it shows. We had the dolphin kottu and a the local fish, Mullet. Both were generous and the seasoning and spice on the fish was super tasty. This place is located right next to the fish market. The guys are hustling and we would 10/10 recommend and come back next time we are in Sri Lanka. Don’t miss out and definitely come by for a meal. My partner and I arrived in Sri Lanka and chose Jude Restaurant as our first Sri Lankan food experience. We were not disappointed! The food was absolutely lovely, the staff were very hospitable and friendly and the atmosphere was very chilled (especially in the evening, with the lights and music!) There is also a lovely ocean view from the table we sat at. Dishes we recommend are the Sri Lankan breakfast and the rice and curry selection. Just to be clear - they serve really great kottu! We ordered cheese chicken & dolphin with sea food. Unfortunately when it came to the service we were really really disappointed. My wife does not eat meat beside seafood. First time they served they dolphin chicken kottu. After that they just mixed previous one with seafood (still contains chicken!). For the third time she received seafood kottu but definitely not dolphin. We did not send the dish back to the kitchen just not to waste food anymore. At the end they even did not apologised for mistake - only provided info that we do not need to pay for one of the position. Great food! Great service, the family are so sweet and really attentive. This was our first breakfast in Sri Lanka and it was delicious, we already want to come back tomorrow.
