Krema is a nice little spot in Downtown Plainfield that is worth visiting when nearby. The drinks here are pretty good and their small eats menu has some options for you. For those looking for a place to work, the table space could be a potential issue. Every table (other than 1) has very small space real estate. If you need a large space to work and spread your papers (for example), this could pose a potential issue for you. Otherwise, good spot!

Everyone was incredibly friendly and definitely a place you can hang out with friends or get work done. It's within walking distance to the public library and in the heart of downtown.
UPDATE:
The breakfast sandwiches are handmade and DELICIOUS!! Despite being busy (local race in downtown Plainfield), service was fast and friendly. The patio/sidewalk tables are still open and a great place to people-watch and sip your hot/iced drinks.

Lovely spot in downtown Plainfield that serves *excellent* lattes! The atmosphere is cozy, even when busy, the decor is super fun (I love the Betty White painting!), and my lavender latte is delicious! Recommended if you're in the area.

I am not ever in this general area (actually, I had never previously visited downtown Plainfield), but I was helping nearby and dropped into Krema for a Lumberjack Latte with oat milk and a breakfast sandwich ("The Beyond": Beyond Sausage patty, avocado spread, cheddar cheese, sriracha aioli, and egg on house made ciabatta). I ordered online for pickup and threw in a bag of whole bean coffee to my order (why not?). I was very impressed! Main Street is cute, and the shop is very easy to find right on the strip. Parking was easy, and the walk was short and casual. The sandwich hit the spot, and the coffee was... dare I say it... the perfect cup. I prefer the ratio of espresso to milk crafted for smaller cups of coffee, so I ended up ordering two cups just for myself. There was a bit of a mixup with the bag of coffee, but I patiently let staff do their thing and the world went on spinning. The fine folks behind the counter were very friendly and super approachable. Good work, crew!

Stopped into Krema for a quick lunch, service was excellent, friendly staff, and very quick. The atmosphere was nice, kind of a retro feel and very inviting. I ordered the “Krema Klub”, very fresh ingredients, and very tasty. The coffee (americano) was nice, fresh roasted and not too strong. Would recommend stopping in if in the area, quick lunch, date night, or even just for a coffee.

I ordered a Caprese sandwich. It was okay but not much flavor. Other restaurants drizzle some balsamic vinegar or sauce on it. This had none. I will say the sandwich was maybe a foot long and I couldn't finish eating the whole thing.

Had a latte and breakfast sandwich! Pretty good!! However, it was cold weather outside and this place was cold inside as well. The ceiling fans were running pretty fast, and therefore, sitting at any of their seats felt drafty.

First, there are always new drinks and flavors for lattes and cold brews. Thankfully I was still able to order the pistachio blood orange cold brew from last month. It's unique and delicious. But today I tried the maple bacon gouda breakfast sandwich and let me tell you I was blown away. The bread is so flaky, the maple aioli was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed that sandwich, and went back to order another one to take home for my husband. Cute environment, a little hot inside during a heatwave, but the food and drinks make it okay.
