GOOD HOME COOKED FLAVOUR. Yassa Fish (pictured) is tasty and the Cheb is very good (fish, rice and vegetables). The Bissap is always cold/frozen and very refreshing. Affordable and great service. We are here everyday in Saint-Louis. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Yassa Poulet
easy going restaurant, good simple food, friendly personnel. Nothing fancy, no frills, basic but this is part of the atmosphere. Good if you want to kinda merge in. If you look for a high end or European style restaurant this is not your place. I like it. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
The yassa poulet is delicious (best in Saint-Louis)!!! and a bargain (2500 CFA/$3.75) for a good portion. Ambiance is good on a cool evening, and our waiter was nice but not super chatty. Right in the heart of the Island and great food. Mafe and thieboudienne are also tasty. This is one of the only restaurants in Saint-Louis where locals and tourists reliably mix -- and for good reason!! It is a must-visit! The Yassa Legumes was delicious. A very tasty yet mild and sweet dish, based on caramelised onions.(It is not listed on the menu). Extremely good value too. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Lá Linguere, a Senegalese spot we stumbled across in Saint Louis, unchanged for decades. Little did we know it was famous for its Yassa Chicken - a sumptuous dish of grilled chicken, marinated in local spices, buckets of black pepper and a caramelly, rich onion sauce (which later influenced the French onion soup). We also got our hands on the classic Walof speciality, Thiéboudiene. This is Senegal's national dish and you can see why. It's banging. Broken rice & tomato sauce with spiced onions, carrots, cabbage, cassava and peanut oil with what was almost definitely a scotch bonnet chili 🔥. Dang! One bit of constructive feedback is that the food could have been warmer 🙌.

Best Senegalese food in St. Louis. Very cheap prices for big portions of good food. Cheb, yassa, maffe, etc. Often very crowded at lunch time. Would recommend the bissap too.

Just came back with my family. We spent 4 days in Saint Louis and we ate at this restaurant every single day. Food was delicious and consistently cook to perfection. My kids are the Yassa Poulet and I had every fish meal on the menu. It was a great treat. Let's also not forget about the warmth of the owner and staff. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

The food is fresh and local as they tell you the dishes of the day upon arrival. It seems to be a place where tourists and locals meet. Cheap, fast and convenient for a short lunch break!

Go-to place in Saint Louis for typical Senegalese dishes, especially if you want a big portion as a reasonable price. Worth popping in the day before to check what the dish of the day will be, especially if you are wanting to try Thieboudienne. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
