First time visiting this establishment for a birthday party. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered the (2) $1 (12 fried shrimp) with fries and (1) 10 wings with fries platters totaling $43 dollar and the atmosphere was completely fun, it was karaoke night and the staff was pleasant. Food was just ok. I was disappointed and mad 😡 they charge one dollar for a bag with purchase of food! So I'm coming down steep steps carrying food in trays without a bag. Smh Accident waiting to happen. Fish would have been tasty had it not been cooked so incredibly hard! Fries were undercooked and bland. They must be the cheapest they could find. I've lived in Philly all my life and have never visited this "legend" of the community. lol I was pleasantly surprised. The crowd was 35 and up and seemingly a bunch of regulars. The bar tenders were super friendly and poured generously. The music was good (a bit old school 70s-90s) and the atmosphere was dope! The bar is modern, nicely renovated, and afro centric. The backyard is a cool. It is large and has a variety of lounging area. I wish I would have taken pictures but I was too busy drinking, eating and interacting with the patrons. Also worth noting, there was security guard at the front door, everyone was screened and I felt safe. I went there between the hours of 4-7pm. I would definitely go back.
