Best macaroons, even beating Disney! Go if you have a chance, their hours are limited, so snag some of you have a chance. Good wine, too, especially if you're staying in a hotel nearby! The best picture I could snap was one of the last macaroons before it was eaten!!!!

We HAVE to stop in this place every time we are in Charleston. The owner is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about food and wine and we are never disappointed with his recommendations. As great as the croissants are, the chocolate sea salt cookies are amazing too. He also just started offering these little molten chocolate bell-shaped cakes that I wish I had bought all he had. Wonderful place and we can't wait to go back!
Best croissants in the South! Plain, chocolate, or delicious almond filled. Flaky and buttery, just perfect. Obviously great macaroons, everything is hand made fresh on location, nothing frozen. Also they have an eclectic selection of hard to find French wines for sale. Don't miss the Macaroon Boutique on your trip to Charleston
I smelled Macaroon Boutique about 7 years ago as I walked down King Street and it has been my favorite place to get a treat in Charleston ever since. The couple who owns the shop are lovely - when I was in college, they would send me home with extra croissants and always greeted me with a smile. After I moved away, they would still remember me when I came home to visit. More importantly: these are the best croissants and the BEST raspberry macaroons I have ever had in my life. If you're looking for a place to go and lounge around and have people wait on you - this isn't your spot. But if you're looking for amazing french treats then look no further.

The sweet gentleman who owns the shop saved my wedding day!! We had a macaroon disaster from another place and the owner here gave me his orders and made more just to help! We had the cutest and tastiest pink and white macaroons we used as are escort cards with our guests names on them. They were such a hit! Everyone wanted more macaroons! I will never go to another macaroon boutique ever, best in Charleston.
My absolute favorite place to go for maccaroons in SC and GA! The mango maccaroon was fabulous! However the chocolate almond croissant was incredible! It is one of the best pastries I've ever had!! The shop was charming and I love the authentic French feel it has. It doesn't feel like just another American bakery. The owner was so friendly and takes pride in his creations! This is a must stop in Charleston!

Awesome Croissants and great Macaroons. The croissant is not like your typical croissant, with that being said it is amazing! Expect something different and be amazed. Had a great conversation with the owner, he was very friendly. Will be back next time we are in Charleston!

A friend and I were visiting Charleston for YALLfest and saw Macaroon that day, but didn't have time to stop in. The next day was a Sunday, and we wanted to be up and around early. Most places didn't open for Brunch until 10 or 11am. We hoped Macaroon would be open for some pastries. They weren't- but the owner let us in anyway! He was so kind to us. The Macaroon's were very good, and I loved my chocolate croissant.

I love this place! Macaroon Boutique has the best croissants I've had in Charleston. The last time I went, I tried the madelines, and they were delicious. I don't even like madelines, and I liked these. Fortunately, each time I've gone there, I've had excellent service. When I said I can't eat chocolate, he offered to make up a special bag of macarons for me. I think part of the issue may be cultural. Charleston is known for southern hospitality, and the owners are French. While they aren't rude, they are NOT Charleston friendly, and I'm okay with that.

Macaroons were cracked just like the owners. I was ready to buy a lot of product but the terse attitudes of the man running the shop made me not want to spend any money there. If you're looking for quality french desserts without the attitude, visit Le Patisserie down the same block, they have the most amazing desserts I've ever tasted. Feed yourself and not his ego, go elsewhere.
