Our waitress, Ariana, was fantastic. Food was OK. The Ruben was the best, but the shepherds pie was not very flavorful. The fries were cold. The Caesar salad was drowning in salad dressing. The atmosphere is not great. They play loud pop music by artists like Miley Cyrus with the bass thumping like in a dance club. We could barely hear each other in the main dining area. Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2

Great food! Most often I come here for the burgers, but every item I've ordered off the menu is great. Burgers, corned beef and cabbage, Shepard's pie, Irish eggs Benedict (brunch menu) just to name a few! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Eggs Benedict

We were passing through town on a super cold day with our 8 year old golden retriever, looking for a place to stop in where he didn’t have to sit in the car while we ate. Went to the patio where there were heaters and the bartender had so much attitude and said “no dogs allowed” when I asked kindly, why? He said “Go see a hostess who can put you out front” - out front with no heaters. I was shocked since there were already 3 dogs on the patio and so much space open. Plus, another restaurant, who’s heaters were down, referred us to this place. I just found it unnecessary for the guido attitude. I would get it if you would explain to me why, but hey! Glad we didn’t give him our time our money. Customer service goes a long way dude. Service: 1

Madra Rua was nice and quiet. Our server was excellent and quick to recommend things to us. The house kettle chips with ranch dressing work excellent those in themselves were a meal. Wanted to try a local Irish pub and restaurant. Service was a little slow being seated as the hostess/waitress seemed to be extremely busy. Took a while to take our order, for the same reason. I ordered fish and chips and my wife ordered a BLT. We both ordered Guiness. My fish and chips was fair. The serving size was good. The breading on the fish was a little bland. The chips (French fries) were fresh cut and cooked right. My wife's BLT was very good. The amount of bacon was liberal, not too much or too little. There was no mayo on the sandwich, but she didn't request it nor was asked. The bread was properly toasted. The bartender was a little loud but very friendly and pleasant, so was not an issue. Hands down the best Irish pub in Charleston. Everything from the service to the food to the drinks was EXCELLENT. The wait staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and the bartender was excellent. Highly recommended and will be visiting again

As close to the Irish as you're going to get around here! Great outside area with live music. Inside the bar is large and plentiful. Just looking for a fireplace to complete the vibe. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Irish Stew
