Mainstreet takeaways in Gate Pa is our local go to fish n chips & Chinese. We have been going there for many years as they cook good kai. We always get free extras if we order potatoe fritters or an extra free piece fish 🐟 Always friendly service! Wanted fish n chips for dinner. Bought the $8.50 pk 1 fish, 1 hot dog, $2 chips 1 potato fritter. I also got 6 mussels for $7. Bit greasy for me. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

Good value for money, probably cheapest scoop in TGA. Ready in no time but the chips aren't as crunchy as Arataki takeaways because of this. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Called and ordered Chinese. Came in expecting it to have been made and paid for it on which they just start to make it but that was not the issue the food itself was not nice at all tasted half cooked even the rice. I don't like to slander people but this is my honest opinion and the food was shared between 5 people all of which shared the same opinion which is would never get Chinese food from main street takeaways again. We we’re going to get fish and chips down towards the Marina this afternoon for a family Sunday lunch and play at Memorial Park. Unfortunately the fish and chips place had lines out on the street. All four of us were starving so we looked for the nearest F&C place in town. Main Street Takeaways a little urban F&C Chinese takeaways, on Cameron Road. For $43 we got a feast for the family. Fresh Terakihi battered fish, crinkle cut chips a first very crispy… kumara chips, muscle fritter, oyster fritters, donut, crab sticks and drinks great price. Recently moved to the area. Thought I would try this business and have been amazed. Had fish & chips, burgers and Chinese food over 5 visits and have been consistently delighted. Best fish and chips in Tauranga... Big call I know but the consistency, and value for money is unbeatable!!! Highly recommended!
