Found this place on Google trying to get a good Latin food for lunch. They do have a good selection of meals already prepared to order and eat immediately. The food tasted good, I got the carne guisada “beef stew” with with rice, beans and salad. I can’t complain with the quality of food, it was good. The staff is also very friendly and good customer service. The only reason I’m giving an 3 stars review, is because of their policy of charging a ridiculous extra fee if you’re 4 people or more. I went there with 3 co-worker's, and we all paid individually, this makes your lunch with the tip and a drink more than $20-$25. It’s just too much for a lunch. Management should reconsider changing this policy, you’re just encouraging customers no going to this place and have luch with coworkers, because they’ll be charged if they do so. The Manjar Latina was a decent place to have some puertorican and santo domingo food. The price is not bad. 16.00 for rice, beans, salad, and one choice of meat. We tried the Guizo de puerco, and it was ok. Not to thrill to come back again. They have a nice bar with a big variety of drinks. Finally I get to give 5 stars 🌟 that's very well deserved 👏🏿 From looking at the exterior within itself...I already knew this place would be pretty good. There's also lots of outside patio space as well. Now once you get inside...the pleasant smell of authentic Spanish food aroma hits you right in the face as soon as you walk in. It's very spacious and cleanly inside. The food portions are delightful... you definitely get your money's worth. Everything was seasoned to perfection... I'm talking like finger licking good 😋 Wonderful staff and the owner looks like a very sweet lady. I absolutely recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed...trust me! Served cafeteria style, the food was hot and full of flavor. The server was very friendly and made our first time visit a breeze. As a Latina, I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're missing home cooking. The pernil was slightly dry but we did get the last of it. The chicken stew was amazing and so tender. Black beans-delicious! Definitely recommend and will be back. This place is great! The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. They bring out different dishes throughout the day. I had Ox tail. I haven't had that in years! Very tender and flavorful. My boyfriend and I had lunch here today. It was amazing. I had beef stew which was full of flavor and tender. My boyfriend had oxtail that were meaty and very succulate. The portions were good. Stopped in for lunch, and Neveah charged us an extra $12 (20%) for two people because we showed up with another couple! She insisted that it is the policy for 4 or more in a party, even if paying separate, although it is not specifically stated that way on the sign. Okay, I travel alot. And eat out often at some nice places. If your in the N. Charleston, SC area, you gotta try this place! I do have to say, I was very pleased. Great food, great atmosphere, nice and clean! And great friendly staff! I had one of my favorite Puerto Rican dishes. “Arroz Blanco Con Bacalao” very friendly staff. After the owners Sister served me, she asked me “take a good look at that plate, what’s missing” I came back with “uno Madurito Al Lao” she no, mejor “Un Pelaso de Aguacate” and just like that, boom!
