Beautiful space with great wine! We had a reservation for 3 on a Friday evening and it was cozy and fun in the cubby. Melissa was super informative and friendly. Great spot to taste through a flight and pick up some bottles to take home. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The margins tasting cubby is a lovely place to taste wine, plain and simple. The only two people who work here are the winemaker Megan and her assistant Melissa. Both of them work in the cellar and in the vineyard. The wines reflect this hands-on and approachable space: transparent, crisp, and organic expressions of California coast made to be savored with loved ones and best buds, priced for everyone. Visiting the cubby is such a unique experience! This is the smallest, most intimate wine experience I’ve ever had, and in such a charming and warm space. I will be back & will recommend to all friends from out of town. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Small but mighty is the Margins Wine Cubby. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Tasted great wine and learned so much about low intervention wine making. Very happy to support a local woman winemaker. You need to visit! Price per person $30–50 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Best local wines in an intimate and grounding setting. I went with a friend, got some empanadas from next door and tasted a flight, it was the best quality time we’d had in quite a while! The service was also exceptional, we’ll be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What’s in a name? Usually, “cubby” makes me think of those boxes on the side walls of a climbing gym where you put your belongings before a big sending sesh—they’re often kind of boring, not made to be aesthetically-pleasing, and always severely lacking in good wine. But THIS cubby is nothing of the sort: arguably one of the best designed small spaces in the tri-county area, I think Frank Lloyd Wright himself couldn’t do as much with 120 square feet as the design team did here. It’s bright, it’s got complimentary ambient colours, it’s efficient, and best of all it’s generously stocked with Margins wine. If you’ve never had your eyes and ears excited by a small space before, or don’t know about Margins wine—who is clearly one of the best wine makers in Santa Cruz county—stop on by for a spell, have a sip (or three), and enjoy.
