My wife and I tried this place on a Sunday afternoon. Is this a bar that happens to serve food, but its specialty is drinks? Or is this a restaurant with an immense bar? If the former is true, it makes sense that the food is not impressive. But if the latter is the case, then I assume there is a problem in the kitchen.
If you see this place from the outside, your expectations rise since it is aesthetically pleasant. The inside could be more enchanting but needs consultation from an interior designer.
There were two other families in the dining room, yet it took 42 minutes for our food to arrive at our table. How long should it take to open a mixed salad bag from HEB and put it on the plate?
On the other hand, two things were fantastic: The meat over the salad (which was on point) and the chicken sandwich bread. I would try this place again because it is not overpriced and we all deserve a second chance.

We went to Metera for the first time for dinner. The place is lovely and staffs are really nice and give us welcoming vibe. We ordered mac & cheese bites, whiskey glaze salmon, drunken chicken, and funnel cake. Food taste absolutely delicious. The only problem we got is that chicken is too dark and some part of chicken breast is dry and taste bitter which I still be able to eat just expected the color and the juiciness match the picture they posted on their page and I thought the rest of the chicken gonna look the same anyway since they probably roasted it the together so I didn't ask for a replacement or anything. We love it overall and definitely gonna go there again.

Drinks were great! I had a spicy jalapeño vodka drink with tajin. He had an old fashioned. Mine was fabulous. His was good. We had a fried appetizer with pickles and quail. Very tasty. I had burnt ends beer Mac and cheese. It was creamy, sweet, cheesy deliciousness. He had fried fish and veggies and Cole slaw. It was pretty good. Live music. Good service. Will go back.

Stopped by and grabbed a bbq bacon burger special with sweet potato fries after seeing one of their post. Super impressed, excellent flavor and it came out looking just like the picture! Good service and friendly staff, highly recommended!

Chips and salsa were good. Shrimp platter was very yummy. They let you sub out sides. Sweet potato fries were good. Corn was a bust (dry, not fresh). Mac n cheese yummy. Dessert truffle fries were yummy. Would come back. They have live music sometimes which was nice.

The service was great and our food selections were satisfying and as expected. We went fairly late in the evening and we didn't have a wait. The mac and cheese was very good.
My only concern was accessibility. I'm not sure if they had one on the opposite side of the building but the wheelchair ramp on the side we entered would definitely not be usable by the average user, it was very steep. So if you need an accessible entry you may have difficulty.

I recently had an amazing brunch experience at Matera Bar & Grill. The food was exceptional, with each dish bursting with incredible flavors. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend Matera Bar & Grill for brunch, lunch, or dinner, that will leave you satisfied.
Appetizers are great and good start. Salsa with chips was so good. Jalapeno margarita has perfect bite, you will enjoy. The food is great next time I'm trying a salad, and they have shiner holiday cheer!

This place is amazing, I attended my girlfriend's work Christmas party here and she has gluten issues, this restaurant went above and beyond and provided gluten free options specifically for her to enjoy her work party. Staff was amazing, food was amazing, and drinks were amazing, if you get the point this place is amazing. If you haven't checked it out you are missing out. Thank you for making this such a great experience.

Had dinner with a friend and stayed to enjoy live music. Fried green beans were delicious. I had the bacon wrapped quail w jalapeno as an entree with a side salad. Hubby and friend had the Cajun trio all food was on point! quail portion was a little smaller than I anticipated but it tasted delicious! Several cocktails were sampled and all were very good. I tested the general managers skill asking for a mocktail and she nailed it! She came up with a custom drink for me that I enjoyed thoroughly. We will be adding this place to our regular rotation.
