Food selection is quite good. Starters, we had garlic truffle and Cheese Ciabatta, and it is very tasty. For Entree, we had salt and pepper squid and Sashimi, which is quite good. As for the mains, we had beef fillet, which we requested medium, but it was medium rare instead. Dessert we has the creme brulee, which is a perfect ending. Service is restaurant style and is good. The atmosphere in the winery restaurant is quite good and pleasant. We were kept on our cruise ship longer than expected, but the restaurant was very accommodating and didn't penalize us for being late for our reservation. We ate outside under a beautiful canopy. The food complemented the weather and was wonderful. We split fish and chips and had my favorite dessert of our trip, a chocolate parcel. Thank you! Given the fine dining setting, this was a rather unpleasant experience. We had oysters and quails for entrée, 2 mains (fish and steak) with veggies on the side. The portions were tiny (compared to the price) and the quality is mediocre. Tasted good but nothing exceptional. Service was quite poor. The entrée were up within a timely manner, but we have to wait around 1 hour for our mains to be served. There were no apologies or explanations, and we were rather disappointed with the mains. The fish portion that was given to us was tiny, and the steak was overcooked. We just didnt really feel like they being attentive enough. 9 of us had the a la cart dinner menu. The food was delicious with exceptional table service. Our server was really professional and was able to time our dishes perfectly, arriving in record time. We left full. Portion sizes were just right. I started with the oysters, which were very fresh, followed by the salt & pepper squid which was tender and delicious, and the pork mains with the exceptional vermouth jus, then finished off with tiramisu. I gave a 4 on atmosphere because we had no aircon where we were seated. Overall, this place is exceptional and should be on your must-eat-at-restaurant-list if you're serious about food! We had a lovely lunch and dined outside, it has a lovely atmosphere here. We had a baby with us and we were able to keep him entertained by going for a stroll to the fountain and gardens. The oysters were unreal, definitely recommend. We had the market fish and the beef eye filled, everything was superb 👌 Wonderful service ! Mission always forms part of our itinerary when visiting New Zelaand. We've visited here many times over the past 13 years and always love it. Great food and great wines. Absolutely incredible meal on their beautiful patio. We enjoyed their wide selection of their own wines plus incredible food by the chefs. This is one of the best meals I have had in years. The potato doughnuts, cheddar cheese souffle, and truffle bread are fabulous. We plan to come back and highly recommend!! We luckily were able to come in without a reservation but will make sure we reserve in the future to ensure we can eat here! Went there on a public holiday. No booking for lunch. 8 people. The place was busy. They offered us a place in the garden but said we would be a bit cramped around the table. I all worked out and we had a great time there. Almost all ordered the fish and chips at $32 a plate! Wow was it worth it! Everyone said it was the best fish and chips thy had in ages. Very generous portions of fish. Thy even did a gluten and dairy free plate too. No issues. Probably should have shared the plates, but everything was finished. We had a great white wine with our meal but I must admit I forgot witch one. Paid the 15% surcharge without any issues. Hope to go back again. We visited the restaurant as part of a wine tour organised by Ross on Trip Advisor. We thoroughly enjoyed a large selection of meats, cheeses, fish, and breads all washed down with a lovely glass of wine. A perfect start to a lovely afternoon of wine tasting. Lovely setting.
