This establishment has been at this location for quite sometime now. It's a small place but very accommodating. The food has always been really good here. EXCEPTIONAL for a strip mall. For sushi lovers or foodies - this actually IS good sushi. Soft supple rolls. So tasty you almost don’t need sauces - a sign of quality ingredients. Look at the amount of eel on this; a sigh this place respects good food done well, and respects and cares about their customers. I drive across town from Toluca Lake for this. This small little sushi location offers a lot of delicious sushi rolls. We ordered about five sushi rolls, and we thought all of them tasted great! The sashimi quality was fine but most importantly, it's all fresh and professionally prepared. The service was excellent as we were seated quickly, and had our hot teas topped off the entire time we ate. Our hostess was very kind and checked in with us often. The food also came out really quickly, but I think that was because we ate around 2:30pm when the restaurant started to clear out. I'd recommend this sushi spot if you're around the area! I’ve lived less than a block away from this place pretty much my whole life .. it’s always been delicious & consistent but in recent months service has gone down hill, today is definitely the day we won’t be returning Came in at 4:40 & the bar was completely empty there was about 8 people outside who we assumed were waiting for tables The staff then informed us that we’d be added to a wait list instead of being able to sit at the bar because no guest can be seated while the chiefs were behind .. definitely not the most authentic Japanese place but you expect some basic hospitality when visiting a establishment.. To deny your guest open seating is not exactly an inviting atmosphere, this means your guest are not offered water or drinks while they wait.. could have been making money while the kitchen caught up. First time visiting this restaurant. We were in the mood for Bento boxes and did not want to drive to Sushi Gen in Pasadena. We ordered Bulgogi which is actually Korean and tempura. The Bulgogi was good as was the green salad that accompanied it. Unfortunately, some of the tempura was over fried and some pieces had black burn marks and tasted burned. One slice of over fried squash was extremely chewy as was an over cooked shrimp. The batter used was also not traditional tempura batter. Also, the rice was too dry and not moist. The waitresses were friendly and attentive and though the restaurant is small, it is clean and nicely decorated. Such a yummy (hidden gem) 😋 The sushi- Ahhhmazing. So fresh and delicious… The service- fantastic. Fast, courteous, and always with a smile. Having stumbled upon this place completely by chance, it is a very happy “accident” and I’m happy it happened! I have been coming here for over 10 years. What kept me coming is their Poke salad. One of my favorite salads of all time. Very small not too much seating, might have to wait 20-30. Really great sushi for the value. The menu is pretty extensive and is pretty popular based on the number of customers coming in near closing and the constant stream of takeout orders. I really liked their bento options with 2 or 3 main entrees options.

Not terrible but definitely not 4-5 stars. Sushi is a little artificial like - the tuna is not natural in its color and overall taste is not authentic.
