Was wandering through Carlsbad looking for a place to watch a live game while getting some drinks and a bite. Walked into this place, sat at the bar, and proceeded to be blown away by the quality of food and cocktails served. Among the dishes ordered, the Spinach + Pear + Goat Cheese Salad was an unexpected standout, with the sweety drop peppers adding a sweet and pleasant pop. Also, the Italian Meatballs had a great texture, probably owing to an excellent balance of meat and breadcrumbs. As for drinks, there's a good selection of craft cocktails (aka "Specialty Elixirs" on the menu). Noticed a lot of people around us trying a wine tasting flight too.. will have to try that next time. I have had this place saved in my "need to go" bookmarks forever now and last night I finally went, and I'm so glad I did! When my husband and I arrived we were greeted immediately by the bartender, Trevor. There was no one inside at this point so he invited us to sit up at the bar with him and keep him company which instantly gave us a great vibe. I asked what he recommended for cocktails and he excitedly responded that the lavender fields forever is his favorite and he loves making it. The combination of lavender and gin was so refreshing and it tasted wonderfully crisp and fresh, and he explained to me that the foam was made with garbanzo bean juice and that all their cocktails are vegan! Definitely taking my vegan step sister here next time she's in town. The menu featured a variety of options, from classic comfort food to more adventurous dishes that incorporated unexpected ingredients. My husband and I wanted to eat everything! He loves Mac and cheese but I'm not the biggest fan, however the green chili's and poblano peppers sparked my interest so we decided to order it. It was, by far, the best Mac and Cheese I've ever had! The flavors were incredible and the cheese was so creamy and delicious. After absolutely devouring our appetizer, we decided to split the pork chop and the short rib. They were incredible! Both dishes had such unique flavors I couldn't decide which one I liked more. Even the mashed potatoes with each meal were delightfully different. The bourbon apple butter perfectly complimented the juicy pork chop, and I feel port wine reduction and short rib go together better than peanut butter and jelly. All in all it was a fantastic experience and I'm already planning on taking everyone I know here! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+

Great service, good wine list, fun cocktails and beautiful place. Definitely worth the visit. We went on a date night but looks super fun for a girls night out as well! 10/10! We found this place on Yelp and decided to go for a late Wednesday night dinner at 9pm. Got the Fig+Burrata+Prosciutto flat bread, Ravioli Sampler with Sage Cream Sauce, and Peach Turnover. Everything was INCREDIBLE. We were expecting slightly-above-average foods and got amazing, well-balanced, perfectly cooked everything! The flat bread was soft, as we prefer. And also worked well for dipping in the sage cream sauce. The raviolis were well portioned, but the true highlight was the sage cream sauce. I've never had one like it, it was so delicious. And the peach turnover gave me churro-cinnamon sugar tastes, and reminded me of a funnel cake. Get the peach turnover! My partner also ordered the El Vaquero drink and they accidentally made him the Desperado. But they remedied it by giving him the mistake drink for free, and making him the El Vaquero anyways. This establishment is in the heart of downtown Carlsbad. Plenty of shopping and good food around here! My wife and I came here for dessert so I can't review any of the other items on the menu. The "death by chocolate" was delicious. It wasn't overloaded with richness like most super chocolate desserts and it had a raspberry syrup and blackberries right on top to give it some tartness. Atmosphere is where this place shines. Beautiful green walls and adequate lighting. Only one single person bathroom but it's not too large of a building so I don't see that being a problem with the exception of busy weekend nights. I've heard that the drinks are amazing here even though I wasn't able to try any. I enjoyed the visit and I will be back to try other items on the menu! Came here at 8ish on a Saturday night, sat on the patio under the heaters. Tried their whiskey sour and fertile myrtle cocktails, really tasty! We tried their short ribs and pork chops both served on mashed potatoes. The pork chops won us over and their short ribs were good too. Definitely a nice spot to try! Our group of 4 enjoyed tasty libations & delicious Oak & Elixir appetizers & entrees this evening, 4/8/23. I liked the feel of this place, as soon as I walked through the door. This restaurant is clean & unpretentious inside. It's a long rectangular room, with Oak & Elixir's bar & bar stools, lined up against one wall, with a wide aisle separating that & the dining tables & chairs, on the opposite wall. My wife & I, plus most excellent friends of ours, had a dinner reservation here, @ 4:30. While early for dinner, I was surprised to see just 3 people inside, a father & his 2 kids, waiting to pick up a To Go Order, when we arrived. Within 30 minutes, however, this place was buzzing with the happy sounds of people having fun, both those seated at the bar & the patrons having dinner. We ordered drinks & appetizers, to start out, with mine being a regular Ice Tea, since I was the DD. The girls had April Cot Cocktails, the Cocktail of the Month. My buddy had a Spicy Sunset Margarita. Drinks were spot on! My wife & 2 friends enjoyed their Hatch Chili Mac N Cheese aps. After trying a bite, I thought it was tasty, as well. It's the perfect robust flavor from the chili, yet not too spicy, plus this dish was so decadently cheesy. I began with a Spinach, Pear & Goat Cheese Salad, plus added Chicken, for a protein. This salad, while simple in nature, had plenty of flavor. For my entree, I had a Cardiff Crack & Gorgonzola Flatbread. This has nice tender strips of Cardiff Crack tri-tip, along with flavorful Gorgonzola Cheese. My flatbread could've used a few more minutes in the oven, to crisp up, IMO, but it was super 😋. The rest of my entourage, enjoyed their food here, while we listened to 80-90's Pop Rock, pumping out from Oak & Elixir's sound system, behind the bar. Happy Hour Daily 4-6pm, great selection of drinks and appetizers and the bartenders are super chill. The music flows and creates such a vibe in the place, centrally located in the village in Carlsbad this place definitely merits your attention.
