5 of us decided to drop in on Ole Tapas Bar on their very first soft opening day. We were picked up at Muele Pier by the Casa Lay resort service boat. It’s a 10 minute gentle cruise in, through some stunning scenery. Especially at sunset this added time the aura of arrival at a spectacular and exclusive setting of the resort. After a couple of cocktails at the bar where we also ordered the food we jumped to the table. Admittedly we were starving and this being a tapas bar (and servings being aligned with the concept) we probably under ordered. A few things we wanted were not available due to day 1 soft opening. We will just have to go back again. The presentation is awesome, and the menu is curated by a young and talented Chef who was wearing her game face on the day. For me the highlights were “Huevos Rotos” (a kind of poached egg Spanish version of nachos) and the 4 Chorizo tapas. 5 starts for both. The Paella was also excellent (we had the chicken and the seafood). The gambas aiglio were quite a runner up simply because my expectations are for decent size prawns. Cannot wait for the sourdough pizzas to come on stream. The dining area needs a music system. The resort was still undergoing some finishing touches and while already sporting a wonderful ambiance, once finished should be quite a wow factor that Puerto Galera deserves. Definitely worth a visit for a stay, and if not then certainly for a very chilled authentic Spanish gastro time. Victor Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
Must try the Cazuela Chorizo, Gambas, and Ceviche. Don’t forget to try the cocktails too! 20 out of 10! ❤️❤️❤️ Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
