This beach bar and restaurant has been set up and is run by a local youth group. The people are very friendly. The service is good. You can also make arrangements here for deep sea fishing or glas bottom boat trips. The place is entirely put up using local materials and "decorated" with drift wood. It's at a quiet corner of the beach. At the end of the Watamu village road. Only a three minutes walk from the Watamu Beach road. Just now I am enjoying an ice cold Tusker beer.
Okay, so most of the resorts and their restaurants sit "close" to the beach but this under-the-radar joint sits literally ON the beach...like your table will be 5 meters from the water! The guest tables sit under a nicely done bamboo structure and there's a more indoor seating if you want to get away from the ocean breezes that can gust up a bit. My suggestion is, if you have time on your hands, then go to this place, which by the way, is a non profit operation that funds a nearby school. The time it takes to get your food is SLOOOW. I think some of the dishes, like the bagias, were made somewhere up the street because it took forever for them to bring those out and they're so quick and easy to make. They pretty much cook to order and they aren't busy at all, so I think the situation is they have to get most of the supplies up the road for each different patron that comes in, essentially making them a cooking medium, or a "kitchen", not a restaurant per se. That's quite alright because the grilled lobster plate that we ordered was heaven sent! Well worth the wait.
No menu, if you don’t ask prices, they will charge you very much at the end. They changed 30 dollars for two fish dishes. You can eat the same in Watamu for three times less price. Food waiting time one hour, and food not impressive
Great place to come for a peaceful and relaxing time. The scenery is beautiful and the water is so clean and refreshing. Nice little bar for some refreshing drinks and snacks. Great place to bring a loved one or your family. I come here a lot and I always enjoy it with no complaints. Please visit this beautiful place
Bellissimo mangiare sulla spiaggia....questo piccolo ristorante ti offre il miglio pesce fresco pescato in giornata. Abbiamo cenato qui l'ultima sera, prima di partire, insieme ai Beach boys che ci hanno accompagnato per tutta la permanenza. I prezzi sono buoni e abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Carino anche per un aperitivo .
