Opera’s kitchen is easily up there!!! Their tapas menu is on point, they also have a Rodizio special I think Wednesday and Friday… on a busy night the service will be a bit slow but you won’t be disappointed!!!

Went there for dinner and drinks after work and because they have they're own agenda for selling black women to men to buy drinks, they want a certain atmosphere. Look, I'm a 9-5 woman, not looking for no guy, or someone to talk me up. I'm here for drinks and food. I guess I went there on the wrong night. Anyway, black women are stereotyped in this restaurant, at least I was. I don't care. But if if you're a regular black woman who just wants to hang out? don't come here. You're the bottom of the barrel unless you're with a "baller". That's my experience. But I guess it's for a certain type of person, love and light.
edit: lol, I left a comment on their instagram and they decided to delete and block me. Yes ladies and gentlemen. These are the establishments we're supporting as black people. As black women. When you raise a concern as a black woman you're deleted and blocked. YES, DELETED AND BLOCKED. Thank God for Google reviews and Hellopeter. And as a digital marketing consultant, I'm glad there are ways to highlight bad business without being silenced. But then again, black people will support this business time and time again. I'm no sheep. But GO OFF.

It gets busy downstairs so service is not so hot but the vibes make up for it easily. It stays a lituation. Keep doing what y'all are doing. Wishing you more success. PS. Give the security a Raise! They really hold it down 👏🏿

We had lovely margaritas. Staff were welcoming and polite. The hostess even came over to say hi and have a shot with us which was very nice of her. We didn't stay long but will definitely go back to experience a little more of what they have to offer.

One BIG problem. Ignore the big bill as was a company event as that is not my complaint; in fact Opera isn't too expensive.
BUT...and it is a big BUT... They try to deceive you to pay a Tip twice; tricking you to pay >25% as service charge. This kind of 'include a service charge, but leave room for another one to be added becasue the guest is drunk and we may get away with it' thievery, is illegal in some countries, frowned on in all countries, and should not happen here in Rosebank. If you insist on going here, then be careful, if you'd like them to change their policy then write a review like this, or just avoid the place. See attached photo.

Service was pretty fast even for a busy Friday night. No problems getting drinks in a timely manner at the bar. Was also here another time and they were super accommodating.
The only negative thing was the music stopped upstairs after a certain point, but the party continued downstairs.

Food is good. The service is a bit slow especially after 8pm. Takes a while for the waiters to attend to customers.
I went there with sandals. Apparently there’s a policy where they don’t allow sandals after 6pm, I was turned away even though there were already people wearing sandals inside. This policy makes no sense to me, the place should either allow sandals completely or not allow them at all. Not sure what difference time makes because people with sandals remain in the restaurant even after 6pm. The unfortunate thing is that while I was waiting at the door to see if I can be let in, they allowed a group of ladies in, one of the ladies was wearing sandals, but they were designer sandals and mine were not. Perhaps they only want designer sandals in after 6pm?
