We go every year in the summer around 5 times a year. It gets better every time we go. The staff are amazing and are very happy to make a vegetarian pizza vegan (sadly no vegan cheese but they take away the cheese and are then very generous with other toppings). Great choice of food too and very authentic. Amazing prices too!
The Calzone was done to perfection. The egg yolk inside runny but not under cooked. Dough just right and delicious, great for doing into the very good Italian salad.
Really nice place to, felt v relaxed there
Rip-off and a disappointment. We ordered one pizza, one dish of the day, one jug of vinho verde and 2 coffees. When the 30 euros bill came there was a total of 8.50 for water we never got but we were told it "came with the menu". The pizza was forgettable, tomato sauce was tasteless. The dish of the day, tripes, tasted fine but only had a few bits of tripe here and there, mostly it was beans in sauce. The house vinho verde wasn't good either, flat and bland (we didn't even finish it, believe me in our case that says it all!). It might have gotten 3 stars - no, actually, it would have likely gotten no review at all - if there hadn't been 8.50€ for water, and invisible water at that. A rare experience for us around here thankfully, we're usually pretty happy with where we eat in this region, if not very happy. NOT a recommended address and certainly not one we'll be saving for the future.
EDIT: Thank you for your response. Likely a new employee, not to see the error even after having it pointed out then. Like you with the tripes in the dish, I also make efforts not to waste food whenever possible, so yes I will still eat an average pizza to the last bit, but I wouldn't come back to have it again.
With some of the best and most prestigious homemade pizzas in this fine area of Portugal. Pizzaria Mónica has been in my heart since the very beginning. With its excellent food, ingredients and prices making it outstanding!
