Visited this gem for their Chicken Couscous and it was nothing short of perfect. The flavors were spot on, truly showcasing the best of the cuisine. What made our dining experience even more delightful was the service. The waitress was incredibly friendly and polite, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The restaurant itself boasts a clean dining area, enhancing the overall ambiance. Its location couldn’t be better, offering a nice setting that complements the meal wonderfully. Highly recommend for an authentic and enjoyable dining experience!”

This restaurant left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the service was good. The staff was attentive and friendly.
However, when it comes to the food, it was decent but far from exceptional. While it wasn't terrible, I couldn't help but think that you could find better quality dishes elsewhere in town. The flavours were average, and there was nothing particular.
One standout aspect of this restaurant, though, was the breathtaking view of the mountains. It was perhaps the most compelling reason to visit. If you're looking for a place with good service and a stunning view, this restaurant might be worth a visit. However, if your primary focus is on exceptional food, you may want to explore other options in the area.

When you arrive you have to walk up the stairs. Skip the first entrance and keep going.
Great good and prices. Friendly staff, but the waiter wasn't that attentive. We wanted to order dessert, but he never came to clear the table or ask.
The starter sampler was nice. We didn't see it on the menu, but the waiter suggested it. I really enjoyed the pumpkin.

Not sure how this place could be 9th on Tripadvisor. I choose this place after reading the reviews on the popular travel website and felt like it would be a really good lunch.
As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the waiter and asked to seat on the terrace. The menu looked good and we decided to order a tagine with chicken which my partner loved in the 8 days we have been in Morocco, so he knew really well what to expect. I decided to try a squid prawn tagine and a Chicken Pastilla (which I had the chance to eat once in Ouarzazate and found delicious).
We were given some olives and spicy dip to start with,
when the main comes we first get the tagine with prawn and squid. As I tried the first mouthful a weird taste hits, I take the second mouthful and I asked my partner to try and I concluded that in some bits had an after taste of ammonium. I voiced my concerns to the waiter (obviously i did not expected it had ammonium in it but some reassurance at least..) but he laughed telling me that there was just tomato paste, squid and prawns.
I had to leave it, it just didn’t taste ok.
My partner didn’t have much luck either, as previously mentioned he had chicken tagine probably for most of our holidays so he knew already what to expect. Everytime we had a tagine chicken would melt in your mouth so tender it was and often you didn’t need to use a knife. The chicken in the tagine looked like it wasn’t cooked with the rest of the vegetables, was really dry and burned, like it was reheated and added into the mix. Also, the vegetables didn’t mixed together properly with the rest and the flavours were all over the place.
The pastilla was probably the only plate I can’t say anything about it as I had it just once before and the one I had in Ouarzazate was really good.
To finish, the service was also average, to say the least, waiters on their phones, playing videos and such. Didn’t not feel welcoming at all as in most of the places we have visited.
I am sorry but this is the worst places we had food in.
Also… at least a plate for the olives stone…

This place was recommended to us by our tour guide. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I would recommend. Get the chickpeas and lamb tangier.

The lamb and beef tagines - both heavenly, of the bone meat and so flavoursome ! Favourite meal in chefchaouen. Also impeccable service despite being very busy. You won’t regret eating here!

Lamb Tagine
We had a perfect lunch in this restaurant as soon as we arrived in Chefchaouen. We took a place on this terrace with an amazing view. Every dish that we ordered was so delicious, especially I suggest you to take tajine with goat and plums, it's really an outstanding combination. Restaurant Baby Ssour was suggested to us by a local guy, we asked for a place where we could find good and typical food and I have to say that it has 100% satisfied my claims. Of course it's also cheap.

I had an excellent culinary experience in Bab Ssour Restaurant, Loubia and Bissara where like i never tasted before, Anchovies and Sea food where delicious as well,
the restaurant has a large Moroccan Food list the choose from on the menu and almost everything is tasty, the rooftop has great view on chaouen horizon.
If you are here on summer have a little patience because it always full, but totally worth it for a great experience.
Try it out & enjoy your meal.

An absolutely wonderful place to eat. A must visit. The food is excellent (the best we’ve had in our 10 day trip to Morocco) but more importantly you are made to feel part of the family the moment you arrive until you leave. The menu has a large variety of Moroccan dishes and every one we tried in our two dinners at the restaurant (we for sure went back for a second night) were extremely flavourful. Treat yourself to the yogurt for dessert, it is delicious. We’re very grateful for our experiences at this Bab Ssour!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bab ssour restaurant in the enchanting town of Chefchaouen, and it was truly a delightful experience. The restaurant's location, nestled in the heart of the Blue Medina, sets the perfect atmosphere for a memorable meal.
The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully adorned with traditional Moroccan décor, creating an inviting and cozy ambiance.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu offered an array of Moroccan dishes, and I was blown away by the flavors and presentation. I highly recommend trying the tagine, a true Moroccan specialty. The combination of spices and tender meat was nothing short of mouthwatering.
To complement the meal, I enjoyed a refreshing glass of mint tea, which was served with impeccable hospitality. The attention to detail in both the service and the food made the entire dining experience exceptional.
Lastly, the rooftop terrace at Bab ssour provides breathtaking views of Chefchaouen's famous blue buildings. It's the perfect spot to savor your meal while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
