The place is beautiful and the food tasted wonderful. However, the service was too touchy feely with me. I ordinarily don't mind a handshake, a gentle pat on the shoulder, but this was a shoulder grab and squeeze, the type I would expect from a friend or a partner, followed by a couple of intentional grabs of my forearm. The service was also too slow. The food may have tasted great but had me sick after I walked out of the restaurant with food poisoning, which ruined the rest of my weekend. I had some oysters and grilled octopus.

Stay away if you are on a budget.
There isn't much of a wide variety of restaurants when going to Costa Nova.
After walking around in Aveiro, we decided to go to Costa Nova, where we could get a bite to eat.
The first restaurant close to the beach was so busy, they had a list of people who were allowed in every 20min.
So, we decided to go the opposite way and came to this restaurant.
Frustrated and hungry, we sat down before even looking at the menu.
(We should have looked at the menu...)
After waiting for 25min, a waiter came to help us (they were not very busy).
We ordered Grilled cod with migas and potatoes with a 1L jug of lemonade.
The fish was alright and not worth €17 (Yeah...each).
The migas underneath was more delicious than the fish on top.
The 1L lemonade was €10....
In total for only 2 dished and some lemonade, we paid €45.
Moral of the story as a tourist, CHECK THE MENU FIRST.

The ambience of this place is really nice, and looks kind of upper class, but is relaxed and reasonably priced. Fish is fresh as it can be, and side dishes are great. And the staff is exceptional.
Very impressive and enjoyable with a beautiful view of the beach and the service and the food is marvellous.

Grilled Cod
I went there a year ago - party of 7 with 2 kids & a baby. The food was delicious (except for the cod), the ambiance is really nice (especially close to sunset time) and its reasonable priced for the quality. The service was the star of the evening. The waiter was very polite and very friendly and accomodated our kids and made them very happy. At the end of the evening, we struggled to find a taxi to take us to our accomodation which is in 'Praia da Barra'. Its a 5 min drive but a 30 minute walk. The waiter tried calling many taxi companies for about 20 minutes but no one would make the journey because it was too short. He then offered to drive us there which meant he would do 2 trips. While we turned down his generous offer, we really appreciated how much her really wanted to help.
