O’Baco graciously accepted our reservation for us and 40 guests for dinner the evening before our wedding. Accommodating a group that large is no small feat but they handled it with the upmost professionalism! The staff were wonderful and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone really enjoyed their wine, meals and especially the dessert!! We will definitely be back during future visits to Sao Miguel. Thank you O’Baco!! Food was superb. The fish of the day was amazing. Great wine selection including Azorean wines. We had three courses, a little mix up with the dessert at the end but easily resolved. Friendly and attentive staff, just wave them down if you need something as they are usually busy. Best to reserve ahead as they do get busy. If I can I will go back there again. This is absolutely one of the best restaurant in Ponta Delgada, no doubt about it! The best we had during our trip in the Azores. We came here to celebrate wifey's bday, everything was so delicious and well presented. The service was also spot on! Always ask for the catch of the day because it's totally worth it! We had the parrot fish and it was absolutely a good choice! The chocolate millefeuille is definitely the highlight of the evening! We couldn't ask for more and we'll be back for sure! Oh yeah there was also a customer with a disability because she was guided by a dog. Big respect for this restaurant for showing others great compassion and paying extra attention! This is so far, and probably for the rest of our stay on the Island, the absolute TOP rated restaurant we have savoured. The food is excellent in presentation and taste. Fresh fish and tender meet. Original deserts. Attentive, friendly professional service. Enjoyable atmosphere and original decor. Could easily give 10 stars but alas only 5 possible. We really enjoyed this restaurant, went twice in a week. The food is great, the staff is nice. The only thing that could be better, is the finishing of the evening. During the diner everything went smoothly and without any long waiting, but the time between asking for the bill and actually being able to pay and leave is way to long. O Baco is amongst the best restaurants in the island! Went there for a last dinner in a family trip with a party of 6. They adapted the menu to be gluten free and the service was super attentive. Fresh local produce presented in an elegant way. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is part of the Ponta Delgada Hotel. I didn't have reservation. Lunch is closing around 14.30. I was offered a tablet with the menu. Good options and also for many kind of wines and spirits. Bread was served from a basket and besides came in a plate butter with herbs also some olive tapanade and hummus . Soup was good but the steak was fantastic! Here i can say that the cappuccino was to hit and very poor foam. I had also red wine and was slightly chilled and very good size. Enjoyed everything. O Baco is full class from start to finish. My friend and I arrived to the island on Sunday morning. We hoped to eat dinner on Sunday evening but the dinner hour was totally booked. Reservations are heavily recommended. We enjoyed a lovely experience on Monday and have plans to enjoy another dinner on Tuesday evening. The presentation of the food is well-designed and imagined. The catch of the day — the barracuda with spinach and mashed potatoes totally blew me away. The potato gnocchi with creme fraise and pumpkin was uniquely flavored and delicious, too. It is lovely restaurant with beautiful interiors and interesting menus. The kitchen is open so you can see a the work of the chefs. Me and my partners had soups for starter- fish one and a soup of the day. Both nice. For main catch of the day and gnocchi and they were amazing. For dessert I had pinaple one- interesting design and taste and my partner tiramusu that could do with a more liquor. The service was good apart from mesding up the desserts- they have forgotten one a d brought coffees after we were almost finishing so some room for improvement. We ordered duck with beets, which were beautifully presented, but that's where the positive comes to an end. The meat of the duck was impossible to cut with the knife, never mind to chew, and beets were bitter. We also had fillet minion, and the meat was very good, but dish lacked complimentary elements.
