Low key place to get some great fresh seafood. Restaurant is very casual, with bench seating & minima/no decor (don’t be off put). The focus here is the food. We had the potatoes, salad, and seafood rice (€47). While everything was tasty (and would get all again), the potatoes were out of this world—a must try. Short drive outside the city was well worth it. Highly recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

2023 0909 We travelled all the way from Heroismo to this restaurant recommended by a local contact. We had lunch and came away rather satisfied. Although, I must say, I was over enthusiastic with a double order of grilled Lemon Sole for two light eaters. Nevertheless, we did finish both whole Soles! We were given an outdoor table, which was relatively cooling although the sun was shining. A chilled glass os SICAL beer helped cool things down well. I did not opt for my usual choice of wine with a meal. Service was efficient and friendly. The dishes were served in due time and we had a great seafood meal, this day. Traditional, home cooked Portuguese seafood in unfussy surroundings. The restaurant is quite old school but that adds to its charm. Lightly battered fish cooked perfectly, with a heartburn inducing level of garlic butter on the potatoes 😋. The wine is also very affordable. Excellent restaurant, great fresh food, attentive service, very reasonably priced. Don't be put off by the decor, it's a family run, no frills place but the food and wine are fantastic. This restaurant was recommended to us by our airbnb host. All I wanted was some sea bass and I got exactly what I wanted and then some. We came as soon as they opened for dinner and was seated immediately. This place is small in space so it's not good for large groups. Our orders were taken quickly and they brought out the most amazing chorizo bread. 😋 And then came the main dish. The sea bass and potatoes. My friend was dying to try the sardines. We were advised to eat them last because of the strong taste. That advice proved to be good. Ohhh and yes, these were the best potatoes that I've had in Portugal. From what I've read about this restaurant, it's owned and operated by a family. I got that family feel and I just know my food was cooked with love. Both my friends said they weren't really hungry and both cleaned their plates. You won't go broke eating here, either. The staff are very friendly. All of the recommended dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. The fresh fish dishes satisfied all of us including the children. We were recommended of this place by a local friend from Porto and it did not disappoint. The direct translation of the name is “jump the wall” indicating that back in the day, they would buy the freshly caught fish where fishermen will throw over the wall to the restaurant side. We ordered octopus rice, grilled sardines, and of course a bottle of green wine. The fish is SO fresh, authentic, and tasty. Highly recommend :)

Local restaurant where you can eat fresh grilled fish. Casual atmosphere due to a nice mix of locals and travellers and a relatively fast service. We've visited this place, because it was recommended to us by a Portuguese surf coach. 20-25 euro per person for a full meal. Starter, main dish, a bottle of wine and dessert. The waiter spoke little English, so ordering wasn't so smooth and some wrong things got brought to the table. I'd visit the restaurant again though. Exellent fried fish. Magnificent potato souce and very interesting bread. Friendly atmosphere, affordable prices. Very good recipe for exeptional dinner.
