This place served my favorite meal I had while in Puerto Rico. I don't recall the name of my dish, but it was delicious. I also tried some soup, and that was pretty good as well. Would definitely recommend it and would love to come back. Great food and great service.
The mofongo was good. Ordered one with shrimp and one with the chicken breast. Took a biftec with onions to go and was disappointed at what they call biftec. The service was a miss. The young man tried, but the place got busy and seemed too much for him. Asked for the bill and got tired of waiting. Had to get up and ask for it at the bar.
Amazing food. Fresh fish & veggies, large portions, incredible low prices for the lunch specials. Includes a bottle of spring water, which is typical of lunch specials or cafeteria food here in PR. Desserts were sublime!
12/26/23 Lunch. We didn't stay at the hotel. We only had lunch there.
We started with the $15 appetizer, which was a big, good sampler of 5 items (fried plantain, chicken tenders, fried corn sticks, miniature empanadas, and spicy miniature chimichangas). 5 pieces of each were plenty for the 4 of us. We'll worth the cost.
I had the mofongo pescano with sweet and green plantain (+$3). Delicious! The large wooden cup was full of broth and fish, with the mofongo along the sides of the cup. It was better than I expected.
My wife had the creamy chicken dish that came with a small side of beans and a cone of rice. Also, better than expected! Our friends had an order of mixed mofongo (broth in a bowl) and lastly, an order of chicken tenders and mofongo. They both enjoyed theirs, but not as much as I enjoyed mine!
The server was excellent. Lara owned her job and guided us newbies through the menu. It was a very good meal today.
I would eat here again if we were staying longer.
