We're so lucky to have Sabeno nearby! Everything is delish, but in particular their chocolate vegan cupcakes and cakes are a revelation. You'd never guess they're vegan. They're rich, moist, not overly sweet and somehow the icing is creamy!? Highly recommend the vegan cupcakes with raspberry icing. Our son is allergic to dairy and egg, so we occasionally to buy 6 and freeze them for birthdays etc. so he doesn't miss out. Pictured is a vegan birthday cake we ordered this week for my husband.

Hubby recently bought a whole Mont blanc cake (Mont blanc aux marron) for my birthday. The cake had a tart base, custard layer and finished with a vermicelli of sweet chestnut puree. Friendly owner/operator Saori trained in Paris and that quality, combined with Japanese standards of cleanliness and attention to detail, amount to fine products indeed. Her varied offerings have beautiful presentation and are truly delicious! We needed a gift box as well as our own afternoon tea. We bought six cakes of different types plus 6 or so cute "Little Guys" miniature tarts and cakes and even a little green lamington! All very well received and devoured by everyone. My only regret is not having taken any photographs. We travelled 30 minutes across the city just to go and try Sabeno Patisserie, and we do no regret it! Well worth the effort. Thanks Saori! 19/02/2024... Well, a year after our fist visit we had a birthday celebration and decided to travel the 45km, hour long round trip to Saori's Sabeno Patisserie for her speciality Strawberry Cream Cake. I am so glad to know Japanese cake cafe in North Shore! It's convenient this cake cafe open on weekend (many cake shops close on Sunday). We tried Macha cake, Mont blanc cake, and flat white. Cakes are nice. We will come back and will try other cakes! Coffee is good, too. I am looking forward to order a whole cake for family's birthday. Cafe is very clean and friendly. Service Dine in

Ordered a Mont Blanc Tart for my anniversary. Saori was kind to accommodate my request. Tart was delicious!! Everyone had this for the first time. Everything is well balanced 👌 can't wait to try this with it a cup of coffee yum yum!

You can’t get this kind of Japanese Strawberry ShortCake anywhere in Auckland. You will love this shop if you like Japanese sweets which have very delicate taste. In other words, they are not too sweet like kiwi/European desserts 😀
