Disappointing. Mostly at the fish, it was a tiny piece of Snapper with it's skin still on under the batter - see the shriveled grey thing in the photo. Very unappetising. Did not Enjoy the onion rings or chips either. Don't know what kind of oil they use but it gave a slightly odd flavour all round. The service was a bit frosty when taking my order. Tonight I had a hankering for a burger, and not a burger from one of the common franchise chains but a REAL burger, specifically a Bacon and Egg burger. As I was heading back to Stoke from Richmond, I stopped in at Salisbury Takeaways. Obviously a popular spot, I placed my order and waited. I did not have to wait long, regardless of the queue that had formed. I ordered a half scoop of chips, a piece of fish, and a hotdog. The chips were good, and the fish was cooked perfectly. Reports from my niece were that the hotdog was one of the best she had ever had. The burger was good too, with a hand-made meat pattie, grilled nicely. Chips were good, burgers were very average, buns fell apart and were stale, family had 3 different flavoured burgers from venison to chicken and no one finished them. Unfortunate as we’ve been going here for over a decade and the last couple of years has really gone downhill. Missing a fish and hot dog as well to rub salt in.
