We stayed in Dambulla for 4 nights and have come back 4 times. Each night was different from coconut green bean curries to unique dishes we had never tried before in our two weeks in Sri Lanka. If you are in Dambulla you must come to Sandra’s restaurant. Presented in a buffet style or huge portions you get to sample amazing tasty curries that taste home cooked from a mums kitchen and full of love. A must visit !! Buffet of the most unique foods I have had so far on this trip. Particular favourite was the peanut curry. Less than 2000rupees per person and so filling. What a gem of a place. We were in Dambulla for 4 nights and ate here on 3 occasions. The first night we sampled the superb Sri Lankan buffet. Her renowned chicken biryani made specially on the second night and, chicken kottu with many side dishes on our last evening. Can’t recommend Sandra’s highly enough. We had a wonderful dinner at Sandra Restaurant. The food was delicious and portions were huge! It was about 3000 rupee per person (with beer) but we left absolutely stuffed. Tasty and home-made local food! We highly recommend to try the curry buffet to get an amazing culinary experience. Or if you’re not a curry person, try kottu roti! We found the place on Google maps and we were unsure if it would be opened! We arrived here for lunch after a long and hot climb to the temple and we were starving and thirsty! What an amazing surprise to see so much authentic food with so many flavours and taste!! Amazing Sri Lanka food, if you ever como to dambulla this is absolutely a must try!! Very nice owner and his mum is the chef, she is amazing! Price for buffet was 950 each, including water and coffe!

Best food in Sri Lanka so far. The place is so beautiful and relaxing that you would love to stay for longer. They also have guest house. Totally recommend it.

Delicious food and the most kind owners. ☺️🙏 It’s a buffet-style establishment, with a few vegetarian options, but they can also cook something else for you.
