Just found out about this little local gem. If you're looking for a pretty bomb burger to get in town, this is where it'll be.
Picked up the cheddar bacon burger with a small fries and they didn't disappoint. And yes, that is a "small" fries in the picture. The bun was a nice size and held together nicely, the burger patty was just right and had that nice home grilled taste to it. I screwed up and didn't realize you can get a double, so now I'll have to come back and do that!!
Service was excellent and very friendly staff!!
Good prices on the food too, well worth it.

Stopped in with two friends on 2/13 was delighted to see such a huge crowd. Seeing that it was so busy, we were prepared to wait a little longer for our food, but it was out in no time, hot and just so delicious. Don't skip the fries, they are delightful. If you're going to be in or around FWB, you should stop in for a good lunch. Just bring your appetite because they don't skip on portions!

If you want a Fancy Clean Burger this is not the place for you!! I got the smoked cheddar burger today and it was absolutely Amazing. Cashier was nice and food was prepared quick. The burger tho came out and looked big. I unwrapped it and it looked like a hot mess master piece😁. Sax imo has the best burgers in town!! If you want great food definitely give this place a try.

Great food, the setting is so pretty. Me and my friend went here by random to try something new and we weren’t disappointed. Those fries were a SMALL i was shocked. Customer service was also great, very nice lady upfront 💗 defiantly will return.

Club Panini and Fries
Really disappointed in this place based on the food. We got a disgusting club panini that was swimming in sauce and drippy. It was cold. The Philly steak sandwich was better. Maybe average but nothing like great. Maybe we got a bad night but I won’t be going back.
Sorry not my cup of tea. Other reviewers descriptions was pretty spot on though. Our cashier/server was pleasant and friendly!
We had the Smoked Cheddar Bacon Burger ($11.69) and Small Fries ($1.99), the Half Veggie Sandwich ($5.49), side of potato salad ($1.69), and side of baked beans ($1.69). The burger was huge and messy and definitely not heart healthy. It had thick cut bacon (lots of it) and thick cut grilled onions. I found it way too much. Flavor was okay, but on the greasy side. The Veggie Sandwich was healthier, but as a hand held sandwich, a challenge to eat as well without everything falling out.
Don't get the potato salad. It was very dry and tasted awful. The baked beans were very good, with big chunks of meat. Portion size of the potato salad and the beans was very small in relation to the much larger burger and fries!
The best part was the small fries. Very generous helping and quite good! No need to get a larger size fries! See pics.
The ice machine is old and as a result the ice is tainted and tastes pretty awful. Buy the ZephyrHills bottle water and don't use the ice.
If you have a big appetite and like this type of burger, you will probably like it! Stay clear of the potato salad and the ice machine!

Great job on the Burgers, hand smashed and grilled to your liking ... & Not wimpy JUST outstanding, And the fry bag is incredible too!! This place gives you your money's worth along with quality-fresh -hot -delicious.. spoke to owners/operators yep they work fully on achieving the goals of bringing delicious great food to their patrons....

Sax Cheese Burger
Outstanding meal. Nice kinda funky atmosphere. Any place that volunteers to make fresh coffee w/o being asked gets a nudge up in my book.
I had the cheddar bacon burger and it was great. It was literally hefty to pick up. I ordered fries, but while they were great, that delicious burger filled me up!

Best sandwich place in Fort Walton Beach! This location has had so many failed businesses so it was so refreshing to walk up and see the line practically out the door. The Cuban and Sax Chesseburger were so delicious. The price point can’t be beat either. If you like pickles this place is also for you! Will definitely be coming back soon.

This was our first trip to Sax, but it will NOT be our last. Walk in and you are greeted with a smile and "welcome to Sax!" Right away you feel at home. The food smells great and the handwritten chalk menu behind the counter tells you the offerings of the day. The prices are really reasonable and the portions are generous. I ordered the turkey Ruben with fries. The fries are those crispy matchstick fries that are delicious and more than a little addictive. The Ruben was a delicious mess. When they say extra napkins and grab a fork, they are right on the money. My wife got the burger (and stole a few of my fries) and loved it. Fresh veggies on the burger topped it off just right. Nice touches like a pickle spear explain why the place is packed with locals. We got a table right away, but there were not many to spare. There is outdoor dining along the front porch and lots of tables inside as well. Still get free refills on soda and tea, and you can't say that about everywhere these days.
Down home, blue collar, reasonably priced comfort food that nicely reflects Fort Walton Beach's personality. Stop in, and don't forget the napkins!
