Saxon Pub is pretty near United Club. Most people suppose that you can order good salads, tacos and gat here. Guests don't highly appreciate draft beer at this bar. You can enjoy live music in the evening. From the guests' point of view, the waitstaff is gracious here. Affordable prices are something that should be said about Saxon Pub. But clients rate this place below average on Google.

We loved this Austin music venue. It is definitely small but the bartenders and music were great! It would be nice if they had greater food options. The only thing available was a hot dog truck the night we went. If you are seeing a show, make sure to arrive early. Seating is limited. Otherwise you might have to stand by the bar.
So I'm an original austinite, and yes, this was my first time here, sad to say. I'm glad I finally made it in to see what they have to offer. It was a great experience. I love all types of music, and these women were amazing. I would definitely like to come back and hear more musicians play here. I'm not a drinker, but I do like to try new drinks, so I did have one while here it was perfect, not too sweet or too strong. I even got to take my cup home with me as a momento. Thanks to my hiking group and their socials, I was able to experience this place and the amazing musicians that play here. Oh, they have this wonderful food truck in the parking lot where you can order at your table, and they will bring your order to you. I had the crinkle cut fries, a pizza pocket, and the fritoe pie so delicious. I want to try the hot dos next time.

They allow and encourage patrons to block the sidewalk. This venue actively makes the streets less safe for pedestrians and the city less accessible for anyone with mobility issues. There are cars blocking the sidewalk every night. Saxon Pub doesnt do anything to stop their patrons from blocking the sidewalk like their response to my review says. Don’t support business that make the city less safe especially for people with disabilities.

One of the last great Austin venues. The kind of place you'd lay down in front of a bulldozer to save from development. More than fair prices (cheap, you may say) and well ran. Great place to discover new artists. Had another great night Saturday getting to see the Eric Tessmer Band for the 10pm show.
I’m from here and have been going to this spot for decades and it’s always been a great vibe. Went to see Walt Wilkins last night and it was an awesome show but the bartender… I watched her make an espresso martini with a wad of cash clutched in her hand, rubbing it all of the rim and inside the glass as she swirled chocolate syrup in it. When I gently told her what was happening, she started yelling and said I was lying. Major attitude for something so simple. It wasn’t even busy, why so sloppy and rude??

Great Venue. Parking fills up quickly. Best to call an Uber. Super friendly staff. There is usually a door charge for watching the bands. The Lost Austin Band was a lot of fun for some local older dudes rocking it. Saw a lot of folks getting up and dancing. If there’s multiple bands playing be prepared to pay more than once.
Absolutely adore this place! I’ve been in Austin for 6 years and I had never been to the Saxon Pub until January of this year! Wow…I was missing out! Great acoustics, incredible live music from mostly local bands. I’m a regular on Thursdays for the free show at 6:00! Labor Day weekend I saw 5 show over 2 consecutive nights! Zero disappointment. Needless to say, I’m there a lot now. ♥️🎶🎸

Overall great music and atmosphere. However beware, apparently the front door people are just there to rip you off. Paid $22 per person for entry at 9. At 9:45 we were leaving and asked if the wrist bands would get us back in. The guy said absolutely. We even told him we’d be around the corner grabbing food. 45 minutes later, we show up. The guy says our wrist bands are no good and we need to pay again. Why lie to us? Maybe pay attention to the people working the door. We get you have a location at the terrible Austin airport but this is absurd. Re: your response -- we got there at 9, paid full cover even tho there were 30 minutes left (the guy at the front didn't tell us). Had we not left, we could have stayed for the next band under the original cover. However, when we asked, the guy literally said it'd be no problem and he'd let us back in. We weren't allowed back in and he acted like he never saw us before. I understand that the cover goes to the band, however, perhaps your front door people can actually understand what's going on and not just lie to us.
Popped in for a quick drink to avoid afternoon traffic. Ended up staying for PAACK and Patrice Pike shows. Both amazing! Such great staff and always a friendly crowd. Food truck out front has vegan options and delivers to your table 😁

Intimate music venue, great bartenders and waitstaff. We came to see the PAACK and Cari Hutson & Good Company…incredible performances. Grateful for places like this that support these phenomenal artists. The beer is cold and LOCAL!
