We got the pecan rye and coconut puff. Both were delicious! The puff is coated with caramel, milk chocolate, and tons of roasted coconut flakes. The filling! The amount of filling is very satisfying! Excellent everything. Food selection is plentiful and the food is fresh and sooo good. So many coffee flavors. The service is impressive and our server went above and beyond. This bakery is how I discovered the town of Milford. I was researching bakery’s in the area and heard about Scratch. Make the journey for the Monkey Bread alone, you won’t be disappointed. Lol. They close early, you snooze, you lose, and sometimes your favorites sell out. Pre order online the night before for a timed pick up and avoid a sell out. I like the breakfast sandwich, the egg bursts open between a yummy fresh bun oozing with sharp cheddar. It’s really good 😍 One Fall weekend I thought I saw a famous designer (with small entourage) picking up a big bag of goodies there. Not going to name drop but it doesn’t surprise me, he has good taste.😊 It’s right across from the lovely town Green which makes a nice place to picnic if the outside tables are taken. If you sit outside you will no doubt meet some really nice local people, everyone is very friendly.

Delicious spot for lunch, baked goods, and coffee! I plan to visit again to try more variety, but everything I had today was excellent! I got an apple + spinach salad (with candied walnuts, seasoned croutons, fontina, and white balsamic vinaigrette), churro cupcake 🧁, and iced coffee. Service was good as well. They have limited seating outside right now in the nice weather.

Yum, yum, wow. Came in for lunch and warm drinks on a sunny fall Saturday. There was a line because this place is so good! We had a delicious meal in the sunshine at a table out front. Being gluten free I couldn’t sample the delicious baked goods that are their bread and butter but I was able to order a fantastic, well priced and massive salad. I had the Chipotle Sweet Potato Salad and I added Chicken to it. All the elements had incredible flavour and the Parmesan dressing was delicious. We went back in for more dressing! I also had an excellent cappuccino. My friend had the Waldorf salad which was also massive and an absolutely delicious smelling Masala Chai steeped tea. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the ingredients. They live up to their name as it’s evident that they make their food from scratch. Also, the price point impressed me. The two of us had our gigantic salads, warm drinks and a big doggie treat for a little dog for about $30 with tip.

Both of our espresso drinks had a horrible aftertaste. I’m no expert but I think it’s the flavor that you get from a machine that needs to be cleaned. Notoriously present in gas station coffee because the machines never get cleaned. I hope they fix this because it’s closer to gas station than a specialty coffee shop. The pastries here are great though.

Scratch Baking is not only a wonderful & unique bakery, it is a caring community partner. I called to ask about a donation for the Bethel Shelter meal and was immediately told yes we would love to do that. They loaded me up with several bags of muffins, bread and pastries. I have been coming to Scratch Baking since they first opened and the baked goods and bread are exceptional. Unfortunately, however, they recently seem unable to keep up with their customer demand. Every time I place an order online it is never ready on time, and the area behind the counter seems consistently disorganized. Online order slips seem to get relegated to a chaotic pile, with earlier orders deprioritized in favor of newer ones. I recently placed an order at 9 a.m. for a noon pickup for a lunch party I was hosting, and when I arrived it appeared that they were searching for my order and subsequently rushed to prepare it. The sandwiches turned out to be a mess - haphazardly assembled, they fell apart upon trying to eat them, and the whole thing made for a disappointing albeit expensive meal. Really hope they can improve the service aspect because the food is generally fantastic but at this price point, I think customers deserve better.
