The cooks here prepare good ribeye, bacon and steak sandwiches. This bar has delicious draft beer among its drinks. Such a great local pub with great service and marvelous food. We had a minimum of two people taking care of us at all times while we were there. I ordered their pork chop and was pleasantly surprised when a HUGE chop 🥩 was delivered (see photos). The chop was glazed and perfectly cooked. The place was full of locals saying "Hi" to each other. We felt so comfortable. They opened in 1988 and our waitress had been there over 30 years. She was wonderful. This is a great greasy spoon hole in the wall bar. Great burgers n pizza. The wings are amazing. Not a huge space but they've got good outdoor seating for the summer. Good atmosphere, good prices, good service n friendly staff Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

Smitty's THE BEST CAESAR SALAD IN STL!! Everything on the menu is excellent! You will not have a bad meal here!! My favorite is the chicken fried steak, omg, it is the best I have ever had!! Blue Cheese burger, is amazing!! Any piece of meat you order is going to be delicious! You will go back again and again, I promise!! Just go check it out for yourself!! We recently tried Smittys on a Friday for their catfish dinner. The catfish was very good so we returned this following Friday. The catfish was not cooked completely since it was firm, nonflaky and tough in the center part of the catfish filet. We told the waitress who stated she would get another. I waited for such a long time and my husband had finished his dinner sometime earlier. She finally returned after many attempts to get her attention to just get our ticket since we had waited so long. She left us a Styrofoam container with a catfish in it. We got home and not surprisingly it was inedible... It was disgusting. The waitress and this establishment apparently did not learn how to treat customers when they serve food that is not cooked throughly enough to be safe and edible. My husband in paying our bill also appropriately tipped this waitress before we realized the replacement of the catfish in the styrofoam was also inedible. They should learn that treating customers the way they would like to be treated would make more business sense. Food: 1 Service: 1

Great local restaurant/bar. It has been there forever because the food is good and the staff is friendly. The pizza is St.. Louis style and is really good.. they don't skimp on the toppings.. They have nightly specials too!

I was told about this little hidden gem by a friend. Everyone, except me, knew about the French dip (they don’t call it that). It was really great and really big. While I did finish the whole sandwich that’s all I got. Next time I might get fries and save half the sandwich for another meal. This place is a little hole in the wall in the best way. The regulars are really friendly and the service by the bartender makes you feel at home. It’s a version of Cheers for those old enough to remember it. I’ll definitely be back, maybe today!
